William “Billy” Gormley worked tirelessly in the rescue and recovery efforts at Ground Zero, which ultimately took a toll on his health. Sixteen years after the attacks, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer caused by exposure to toxic chemicals at the site and ultimately leading to his death. Bridget now dedicates her life to preserving her father's legacy and raising awareness of the ongoing health crisis faced by 9/11 survivors.
