Independent power can be produced in villages with simple steam engines and boilers. Jaggery can be made in village farms. Fresh sugarcane juice can be made available even in cities with simple sugarcane juicer working on 1/2 hp motor. It is for extraction of crude palm oil at small scale. It has crushing capacity of 1 tonne per hour which is most appropriate for small palm plantation owners in any country of the world. Significance of this palm oil mill is that small plantation owners can establish their own palm oil mill, extract their own crude palm oil and sell to the consumers directly. So they will not be forced to sell out palm bunches to giant palm oil mills and they will be saved from exploitation of giant palm oil mills. In West Africa, about 1000 tiny palm oil mills are required to be established to make small plantation owners self reliant. So I have designed this tiny palm oil mill to suit the requirement of small plantation owners in West Africa. It will be suitable for small plantation owners in entire world. Women can work on it pleasantly for 8 hours without fatigue and can produce 20 mt cloth in 8 hours. India produces 600 crore kg of lint cotton (RUI) which has a potential for providing self employment to millions of poor, rural and urban people. So to drive such machines by steam engine, direction of rotation of steam engine requires to be changed. In this video reversing method of 70 hp steam engine has been shown from clockwise to anticlockwise direction. It is the virtue of the steam engine that every steam engine can run clockwise or anticlockwise direction and we can change the direction of rotation as per our desire. Diesel engines can not run in both directions. HP of diesel engines can not be increased. But HP of steam engine can be increased by increasing boiler pressure. So in such matters, steam engine is superior to diesel engine. Production capacity per hour is at least 4 mt. One person can run 2 or 3 or even 4 looms . Total weight of the loom is only 300 kg. It is with under pick mechanism and take up motion mechanism. Speciality of this loom is that we have removed crank shaft and bottom shaft both and we have used straight bright bars. So no any event of crankshaft breaking. Everywhere bearings are used. So power consumption is minimum. I strongly recommend that wherever power is available, such electric looms should be installed. Power expense per mt is only Rs.1/-. So I do not recommend pedal loom. Profit in power loom is at least 3 times than pedal looms. Power looms can work at least 12 hours. But pedal loom can not work more than 8 hours. Looms can work only after warped beam is mounted on the loom. So it is essential for weaving process that warped beams are made ready from the yarn cones coming from the spinning mill. So warping machine has been developed which takes about 160 threads from 160 cones mounted on the creel to make strap which is wound on the warping machine. Loom has been innovated and improved with simple components with the care that price should also reduce and loom should become cheaper. Accordingly main shaft (sley shaft) and bottom shaft have been replaced by straight bright bars. Gears have been removed and chain and sprockets drive have been installed. Underpick mechanism for kicking the shuttle has been simplified and original KVIC components such as thokar plate, thokar boss, thokar nose and square pipe have been altogether removed and simple eccentric on both ends of the bottom shaft presses the lever to enable wooden strip to strike and push the shuttle quickly. Video is a little bit crude prototype and hence not finely finished. But it works very nicely weaving 45 to 50 mt cloth in 12 hours. Motor is of 1/2 hp. So this is highly suitable to produce cloth in homes in villages. No power is used. Equipments are very simple, local made and inexpensive. So village people can prepare the cloth from the yarn. Bigger yarn cones are to be rewound in to REELS simply by hand process. Beam wound this way will be loaded directly on the hand loom. In this case, it is wound for 100 bed sheets. Such traditional weaving by hand looms was wide spread rural weaving business involving millions of people and thousands of villages. But aggression of automatic machinery with huge production destroyed this valuable weaving business in villages. But now people are reviving this important weaving industry in remote villages and now people have started understanding the value of local production, local consumption.
