Upon canvassing the area, the officers located the male suspect and was able to take him into custody. The male suspect was identified as 28-year-old Michael Boykin. Mr. Boykin had been associated with multiple assaults on Transgender individuals within the City of Atlanta. He was believed to be in possession of a firearm and considered armed and dangerous at the time of his arrest. Mr. Boykin was charged with Possession of Drug Related Objects and had warrants out of the City of Atlanta for: -Aggravated Assault -Criminal Trespass -Battery and -Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon Thank you to the Zone 5 Officers and the Atlanta Police Department's Homeland Security Unit for their efforts in keeping the City of Atlanta Safe! Individuals in this post/video are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. </video> <video> Officers with ACE & Phoenix Team Up to Capture a Reckless Driver Description: On October 18th, 2024, at approximately 9:26PM, officers with the Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit were conducting speed enforcement on the I-20 Expressway, when they observed a black Honda Civic travelling in excess of 90 mph in a 60 mph zone. After confirming the speed of the sedan, officers began to pursue it in an effort to conduct a traffic stop. The driver continued to recklessly drive down the expressway by speeding and making several erratic lane changes without utilizing a signal. Due to excessive speed of the vehicle and the recklessness of the driver, the Aviation Unit (also known as Phoenix), assisted officers on the ground by maintaining a visual of the vehicle. The Aviation Unit was able to track the vehicle to a Shell gas station at 387 Hill Street SE, where the driver eventually stopped the vehicle. The driver complied with the officer's commands to exit the vehicle and was placed into custody without further incident. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 27-year-old Quentin Jackson. After further investigation, it was discovered that Mr. Jackson was illegally in possession of a firearm. Mr. Jackson was charged with Speeding, Reckless Driving, Too Fast for Conditions, Failure to Maintain Lane, Driving While License Suspended, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Mr. Jackson was subsequently transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. </video> <video> APEX Sniffs Out Crime Description: On December 7, 2024, officers assigned to the Atlanta Proactive Enforcement and Interdiction Unit (A.P.E.X), were actively searching for two suspects believed to be a part of an armed robbery on November 23, 2024. Officers were able to coordinate the take down of one suspect while he was walking along Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. SW. The second suspect, was tracked to a crawl space on Euharlee St. SW. In the crawl space, an officer could smell cologne in the air, which ultimately led the second suspect being located. The suspects were identified as Kentraevious Hunter (7/2000) and Kortez Ragland (11/2005). Both were both charged with: • Aggravated Assault • Armed Robbery • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony • Obstruction All arrests and photos are public information. The black males shown in this video running away are wanted for questioning by the APD Agg. Assault Unit. If you have any information on the identity of these individuals, please call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS(8477). </video> <video> Homicide suspect from 133 Trinity Ave SW on 12/14/2024 Description: On 12/14/2024, APD Homicide Detectives were called to 133 Trinity Ave SW on a person stabbed. The investigation showed that the man shown in this video was the person who committed this crime. If you have any information about the person's identity, please call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS(8477). </video> <video> "Uhh That's Me" Airport Auto-Theft Suspect Arrested Description: On November 25, 2024, an officer was patrolling the Rental Car Center at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport when the officer was alerted to a suspect who was prowling on the Rental Car Center property. The officer quickly responded and was able to locate the suspect. The officer asked for additional units while giving a description and updated the location of the male suspect. Upon further investigation, it was established the suspect had stolen a Kia Forte and a Kia Sorento from the Rental Car Center on November 24, 2024, and that he attempted to steal an Audi A6 from the same location on November 25, 2024, but was prevented from doing so due to a security barrier being used. The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Mr. Jaquavious Crenshaw. He was charged with the following: -Theft by Taking (Automobile) -Theft by Taking (Key fob) -Prowling -Entering an Automobile It was later determined that Mr. Crenshaw had been previously arrested for Auto-Thefts two times, with one of them being in 2022 for theft of an automobile at the Rental Car Center located at the Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Individuals in this post/video are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. </video> <video> Traffic Stop Leads to Large Marijuana Seizure Description: On November 16, 2024, officers assigned to the Zone 2 Crime Suppression Unit, performed a traffic stop a vehicle near 1700 Defoor Ave. NW for a window tint violation. Upon speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, the officer could smell the strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Subsequently, the occupants of the vehicle were detained, and the vehicle was searched. During the search of the vehicle, officers recovered 1,490 grams of marijuana in various forms and packaging. During the search, officers also recovered 17 digital scales, a Glock 33, a Glock 19X with a 30-round extended magazine, and $2,573 in multiple denominations. The suspects were identified as Eric Bell and Nicholas Thompson. Mr. Thompson was charged with: • Window Tint Violation • Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony Mr. Bell was charged with: • Seatbelt Violation • Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony All arrests and photos are public information. Individuals in this post/video are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. </video> <video> Crime Reduction Description: </video> <video> APD Officers Capture a Fence Jumping Burglar Description: On October 9th, 2024, at approximately 9:44AM, officers responded to Biscayne Drive NW in reference to a residential burglary. The reporting party contacted 911 after observing an unidentified male on surveillance footage breaking into his home and stealing his firearm. The reporting party provided a description of the suspect to 911 dispatchers who then relayed that information to responding officers. Officers arrived at the location a short time later, where they observed a male matching the description that was provided. Upon seeing the officers approach, the suspect fled through an apartment complex on foot and attempted to elude officers by climbing up and over a tall fence. The suspect was unsuccessful though, and was quickly apprehended by the responding officers. The suspect was placed into custody without further incident and officers were also able to recover the victim's firearm which the suspect attempted to conceal under a bush. The suspect was later identified as 33-year-old Kenneth Whack. Mr. Whack was charged with Burglary (1st Degree), Criminal Trespass/Damage to Property, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers. Mr. Whack was transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing. All arrests and photos are public information. Individuals in this post/press release/video/website are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. </video> <video> Peach drop and Peach Bowl safety plan Description: </video> <video> Atlanta Top 10 Most Wanted Suspect Arrested Description: On December 27th, 2024, 20-year-old Corey Comer was taken into custody by the Atlanta Police Department for his involvement in a homicide that occurred at 47 Cleveland Avenue SW on May 6th, 2024, and for his involvement in a homicide that occurred at 183 Mount Zion Road SE on November 17th, 2024. Mr. Comer had been on APD's Most Wanted since November 27th, 2024. Mr. Comer was taken into custody during a joint operation between the Fugitive Unit, S.W.A.T., A.P.E.X., A.C.E., Gangs Unit, the Drone Unit, and Zone 1 and 4 Crime Suppression Units. Mr. Comer is being charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. All arrests and photos are public information. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie and a face mask. The second incident took place on 10/29/24. The suspect was wearing yellow pants, a black hoodie, and an Atlanta Braves baseball cap. If you have any information on the identity of these men, please call Crime Stoppers of Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS(8477). </video> <video> 12/17/204 Atlanta Public Safety Training Center - Presser and Tour Description: </video> <video> APD Commanders Apprehend an At Large Burglar Description: On October 4th, 2024, at approximately 1:15PM, officers responded to 600 Northside Drive NW in reference to an active burglary. Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by the 911 caller/witness who pointed out to officers that a black male suspect wearing all black was fleeing from the area on a bicycle. Officers immediately began to canvass the area for the suspect and though he attempted to elude officers using his bicycle, the officers were eventually able to locate the suspect, and placed him into custody without further incident. Following the suspect being apprehended, officers discovered that the suspect was featured in a BOLO for another burglary that was sent out by burglary detectives on the previous day. A search of the suspect's belongings pursuant to the arrest, revealed that the suspect had in his possession a number of tools which are commonly utilized to commit burglaries. The suspect was later identified as 62-year-old Bobbie Bennett. Mr. Bennett was charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, Felony Damage to Property, Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of Drug Related Objects. Mr. Bennett was transported to the Fulton County jail for processing. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. </video>
