You really never know what you’re going to see, and unfortunately the ocean is very unforgiving. Sometimes this doesn’t go so well, and at one point I thought this was a recovery, but was relieved to see they made it out alive. My gimbal unfortunately was acting up, and I opted to film the rest of the helicopter lift with my 4k wide angle camera, and I need to just record the whole thing mic’d next time, it’s just easy to miss the little details. There’s always a next time. </video> <video> Rescuing a Capsized & Beached 16' Sundance Boat - Salvage Parbuckle Recovery #captainretriever Description: Boat capsized the previous day, and was left overnight on the beach. The county does not allow boats to be left especially in a state park, and will lien the owner's house, and charge them with felony dumping if arrangements aren't made to recover it. After agreeing to pay the negotiated recovery costs we mobilized our asset, and 2 captains to complete the job. Martin county has a strict derelict vessel program in place, and often gives them around 21 days to remove it, but in this case it was 7 due to the surf quickly destroying the boat leaving debris scattered. </video> <video> 13' Outboard Boat Capsizes Due to Boat Wakes & Angry Fishermen But Re-floats Itself #boating Description: Sunk 13’ boat capsizes in the river. I just happened to be running by as another boat was attempting to assist them. The boat hit a large boat wake going at a slower speed after some pier fishermen yell at them to slow down, then leave their fishing lines out as they’re being rescued. Fortunately the hull was somewhat sealed, and the bilge continued to re-float the boat once upright.
