I use white 346 polyester sewing machine thread with a size 200 needle. The swivel knife I use for tooling and carving my leather designs is made by Barry King leather tools. I use Craftool leather stamping tools and some old antique leather tools that have been in the family for many years. I love my Craftool beveler's and have used them from the beginning of my leather tooling and carving journey. The Craftool numbers are B801, B802 and B803 and can be purchase from the Tandy Leather Company. These are the leather tooling and carving tools I used to create the 2025 Leather Carving you see here. Select a lightweight leather stamping maul that feels good in your hand and it not to heavy. When I am beveling around my leather design I make multiple passes over the bevel sometimes up to three times to get the look and depth that I want. Good luck with your leather tooling and carving.
