I’m 47, I’m a mum, a daughter. But I’m also something else I never expected to be – I’m a stroke survivor. “Stroke turned my life upside down, and it has also changed the lives of my family forever. “Things began to get better for me when I got support from Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, and I am so thankful for that. This special charity helped me realise I have a life worth living. “It would have been so easy to ask, ‘why me?’, to be bitter and angry about what has happened to me. But I won’t let myself feel that way. The day highlighted the social, mental and physical benefits of the sport for people. 🚶 MSP Maree Todd, Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport, attended and played for Active Scotland as well as MSP for Central Scotland, Gillian Mackay, who turned out for our CHSS team.
