That codependency is too generic and widely labeled on people. That while the traits within codependency are REAL in many people, and are truly pathological and do need recovery and healing, the way in which modern psychology clinically treat it is flawed. We often can find it difficult for the people in our lives to understand and offer us the support and validation we need -- because unless someone has themselves gone through this and directly experienced narcissistic abuse and/or a close connection with a narcissist/sociopath/psychopath/borderline, they are unable to truly understand and grasp the depth that this has on our psyche, our souls, our perception of the world, our perception on ourselves, our hearts. This type of abuse and manipulation, and this type of relationship, exists at the very deepest energetic level in our being and resides within us psychologically and emotionally at the very most core of our subconscious mind. I became a life coach in order to be less restricted and limited in my approach, as I would be/was in mainstream therapy as a psychologist. I think we often need more support than one hour a week, and it's unrealistic to expect clients to only need support on weekday work hours. To this extent as a life coach I've been able to help my clients more often throughout the week during periods where more support is needed. And by taking clients both in-person and remotely (via telephone/Skype/email/online private interactive interfaces) I'm able to offer clients support and guidance beyond the typical daytime hours; in the evenings, on the weekends, on holidays -- because, as we all know, often it's these times, when we are off work and living our lives, that we often need the most help. I work with and have worked with clients from all over the world. I think we are complex, complicated beings; we cannot heal and transform our lives without looking at the therapy model from a comprehensive place. People who have ASPD are commonly referred to as Psychopaths or Sociopaths, with the central characteristic a lack of empathy for others, being unable to truly connect to others, having strong narcissistic traits (the majority of people with ASPD tend to have or have significant traits of Narcissistic Personality Disorder). This episode focuses on psychopaths that turn into killers. I found the documentary to be interesting, and wanted to share it with others -- but because it was only aired in the UK, and wasn't aired in the US, I had a friend who lives in the UK record it and send to me and I wanted to share it for others that would not be able to watch it in the US. I will hopefully post the upcoming episodes during the next few weeks. </video> <video> Narcissistic Abuse: Those People Who Tell You To "Just Get Over It" Description: There is no just "getting over" narcissistic abuse, and anyone who invalidates your experience by acting like you should just "get over it" or acts and says anything along those lines, even people who are well-meaning and care about you, they say or act in this manner simply because either they themselves bury all of their emotions and will later have major fall out in their lives due to it or it's because they have absolutely zero understanding of what narcissistic, emotional or psychological abuse truly is, and/or they completely do not understand what it's truly like to have someone close to them that they love/d deeply (a husband, wife, mother, father, best friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, etc) be corrupted by a Cluster B Personality Disorder; they are clueless about the destruction that these people cause in the deepest most vulnerable parts of others. What it is like to have been betrayed by someone they trusted so deeply, to be used so ruthlessly. They do not understand what it does to someone when someone who has NPD, ASPD, BPD etc are inherently malignant to the people around them, whom are selfish, who have no empathy or consideration for anyone else's feelings, thoughts, or even their survival in whether they love or die! And yet, can take and expect others to give to them endlessly. This is the fundamental issue as to why it's so difficult to find the help and support people need after going through these types of experiences, because so many clinicians even invalidate their feelings and emotions and perspective. It's important to find someone who understands and will validate your experiences, support groups, online forums to make new friends, therapists and coaches whom are specifically knowledgeable in NPD, ASPD, BPD, and narcissistic abuse syndrome. Ignore those that say you should just get over it, and understand that they are simply projecting their own shortcomings, their own emotional issues, their own agenda, or their own lack of knowing what to say, onto you!
