Our first episode was about the Olympic Games! https://vimeo.com/994200914 </video> <video> Meet Sarah Cole, Dean of Columbia University School of the Arts Description: Dean Sarah Cole has been at Columbia for 25 years. “I started in the English department,” she told Columbia News, “which is my intellectual home.” Later, Cole served as Columbia University’s Dean of Humanities up until September 2023. After a year as the Interim Dean of the School of the Arts, Cole is now Dean of the School of the Arts. In addition to her leadership role, Cole is the Parr Professor of English and Comparative Literature. A specialist in literary modernism, she is the co-founder of the area-wide NYNJ Modernism Seminar and serves on the board of several scholarly journals. She teaches courses in literary modernism and other topics in the 19th and 20th centuries, including the protest novel, war and violence, the body and sexuality, Irish literature, and author-focused courses on Woolf, Eliot, Wells, Joyce, and others. Jon Poppe was named Columbia's Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football in December 2023. Poppe, who served on Columbia's staff under Al Bagnoli from 2015 to 2017 and spent the 2023 season as head coach at Union College, becomes the 22nd coach in program history. Last year, Poppe led Union College to a 10-2 record and saw the program advance to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. Tomer’s lab has a wide-ranging approach to that goal. Several years ago, for example, Tomer and colleagues developed a set of imaging and chemical treatment methods that can turn tissue samples of the brain transparent, giving scientists the chance to study them more easily and in more detail. And late this summer, his lab published a paper in Nature Biomedical Engineering on a new tool that they developed that can cheaply capture high-level images of brain tissue that were previously only possible to capture with ultra-expensive lab equipment. Moses Professor of Law at Columbia Law School. He became the 16th dean of Columbia Law School on August 1, 2024.
