She is notable for being the first transgender person to serve as a spokesperson for a major political party, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA). Her journey into politics was driven by a desire to advocate for the marginalized transgender community and to push for systemic changes from within. Political and Activist Role:Disha's entry into politics was fueled by her belief that real change for the transgender community could only be achieved by being part of the political system. Her appointment to the Transgender Welfare Board allows her to directly communicate the needs and concerns of the transgender community to policymakers.
