SS Ger-y-Bryn was a British registered cargo steamer of 5,108 GRT. She was lost in 1943, torpedoed NW of Lisbon by U-130 while part of Convoy XK-2. All 47 members of the crew were rescued by the Royal Navy corvette HMS Coreopsis (K 32). The film ends with the keel laying of "Yard No. 247" which would be the SS Tudor Queen. </video> <video> HMS Protector night transit of Panama Canal (2014) Description: HMS Protector took seven hours and 38 minutes to make the 77.1km (48 miles) passage from the Pacific to the Atlantic through the canal, which this year marks its centenary. The 18-metre wide vessel travelled at an average speed of 7 knots through the canal, which at its narrowest point, measures 30 metres.
