Established in 2014, Operation Okra was Australia’s commitment to the US-led multinational Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, formed to secure a lasting defeat of the violent extremist group Daesh. S2024400 </video> <video> ADF | Delivery of the final F-35A Lightning II aircraft Description: On 11 December 2024, the last three F-35A Lightning II aircraft arrived at RAAF Base Williamtown. Six years ago (almost to the day!) on 10 December 2018, the first F-35A Lightning II aircraft arrived. Hundreds of people watched from airside to see the arrival of Australia’s new fifth generation aircraft. The final addition to the fleet travelled from Nellis Air Force Base, in the United States of America, supported by the KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft from No 33 Squadron, and a C-17A Globemaster III from No 36 Squadron.
