What is normal? with Dr Tasha Description: Breasts come in all shapes and sizes, and what’s “normal” for one person might be completely different for another. Let's be honest—many of us have wondered, "Are my breasts normal?" First off, there is no single "normal" when it comes to breasts. Your breasts are unique to you, and things like genetics, age, weight changes, and even hormonal shifts during your menstrual cycle can affect their size, shape, and texture. Whether your breasts are asymmetrical, have stretch marks, or have nipples that point in different directions—these variations are actually more common than you think. Common Variations Include: Asymmetry: Most women have one breast that is slightly larger or shaped differently than the other. It’s completely normal for your breasts to not be mirror images of each other! Stretch Marks: As your body grows or changes, skin stretching can cause stretch marks, which are totally natural and nothing to worry about. Nipple Shape and Size: Nipples vary greatly in size, color, and even texture. Inverted or flat nipples are also common. Veins and Texture: It’s normal for veins to be visible, especially if you have lighter skin. The texture of your breast skin can also differ from smooth to slightly bumpy.
