After sustaining heavy loses in those initial months, Russian leadership decided on a new objective: annexing the Donbas region. Paul Day, Professor of Geology, briefly examines the geologic context for the Donbas and explores to what extent the geology of the Donbas region is a motivator for the on-going conflict.
