Thank you for watching. <video> Senator Ted Kennedy: A rare, unedited, interview at DisneyWorld Description: The microphone was on before the interview and the Senator was so relaxed. I let the piece play out until he took off his microphone. This was a discussion about the drug issue and increased funding for interdiction. It is amazing that this was 30 years ago and the drug problem is worse than ever. </video> <video> Natalie Jacobson, Chet Curtis, John Willis and Eileen wish you a Merry Christmas in song! Description: I loved singing with Chet Curtis. He was a wonderful man and a consummate newsman. This is our Christmas wish to you! </video> <video> Chuck Kramer asks "What Have We Done To Christmas?" Very clever and funny! Description: This piece was a classic! It was one of the most requested segment at Christmas time. Chuck Kramer's wit and writing ability is so obvious. You will enjoy this and it is food for thought as well. </video> <video> Don't talk about your children at work, if you want a successful career! Description: You want to connect with your colleagues and build a rapport but too much talk about your children can be damaging. Whether they are problems or prodigies, remember that we are still stuck with "gender bias" and talking about your children can be perceived as "weakness". Keep it to a minimum, as it is a bad idea to talk about anything endlessly, if it doesn't interest your audience, whether it's your weekend game of golf or your amazing offspring. May not seem fair but, if you want to succeed, keep your mind on your work, not on your kids. </video> <video> "Annie" cast of little girls who play the orphans. Description: The cast of one of the most delightful Broadway shows. Annie toured the country and these little girls made the magic happen. </video> <video> Pub Life in Ireland: Visit the famous O'Donoghue's on Merrion Row in Dublin. Great fun! Description: Dessie Hynes from Longford bought the bar from Paddy and Maureen O'Donoghue in 1977 and ran the pub with his family for 11 years. It is an historically significant drinking establishment located at 15 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, Ireland—near St. Stephen's Green on Dublin’s south side. Built in 1789 as a grocery store, it began operating full-time as a pub when purchased by the O’Donoghue family in 1934. In 1988, O’Donoghue’s was purchased by publicans Oliver Barden and John Mahon. Barden is still the proprietor and continues to run the pub with his family and staff to this day. This pub is closely associated with Irish traditional music and was where the popular Irish folk group, The Dubliners, began performing in the early 1960s. Many other notable Irish musicians—including Séamus Ennis, Joe Heaney, Andy Irvine, Christy Moore, The Fureys and Phil Lynott—have played at O’Donoghue’s, and their photographs are displayed in the pub. There is a lot more to an Irish pub than just having a drink. Pub culture in Ireland has a very long history, but at its core is a sense of camaraderie and friendship. For the last century, the Irish public house has been a social and community centre for the people of Ireland. It functions as both a place to consume alcohol and as a place to meet friends, neighbours and even completely strangers, to converse in a relaxed atmosphere. Feasts are celebrated in the Irish Pub, weddings, funerals, wakes, christenings, birthdays and any other celebrations you can think of. </video> <video> Arnie "WooWoo" Ginsberg: The Sounds of the 60's Description: Arnie was an American disc jockey in the Boston radio market from the mid-1950s to the 1970s. Throughout his top-40 career, Ginsburg was regarded as a credible voice for reaching the teen audience. It was said of him that airplay on his show could make a record a hit. Record companies which asked him to do commercials often saw increased sales. This was the case for such records as "Roses are Red" by Bobby Vinton and "The Monster Mash" by Bobby (Boris) Pickett. Ginsburg also reported his weekly "picks" (songs he believed would become hits) to trade publications such as Billboard magazine. As was the custom in top-40 radio, record companies would bring up-and-coming singers to do guest appearances, which further helped sales. Among the local stars Ginsburg promoted were The Rockin' Ramrods and Freddie Cannon. Cannon subsequently recorded a promotional song for Ginsburg, "Arnie Ginsburg, the guy with the swinging show." Ginsburg was also known for his record hops, dances that were held at local venues; he often hosted them at the Surf Ballroom in Nantasket Beach. After his on air experience, he became involved in the business side of radio as a business manager, president and owner of WVJV-TV, and later as an executive with Pyramid Broadcasting and program manager of their Boston station WXKS/1430. </video> <video> Do you and your partner share the housework? Two couples share their way! Description: If you ask wives what their top source of stress is, quite a few will respond that it is the fact that their husbands don't want to do their share of work around the house. Stress levels increase in your home when either one of you is unhappy about unfinished chores. Couples fight over who does what around the house almost as much as they fight over money. Many surveys and studies point out that even though many women work outside the home, they still tend to do most of the household chores. </video> <video> Craig Virgin: Distance Runner Description: He was a three-time Olympic qualifier at 10,000 meters, and the only American male to qualify three times in the event. He was a seven-time American record holder in road and track events, including a 27:39.4 in the 10,000 meters in 1979 (breaking Prefontaine's American record) and a 27:29.16 in 1980 that was the second fastest 10,000 meters in history at the time. Virgin enjoyed success in cross country, road racing, and track. He was the winner of the 1979 Falmouth Road Race in a course record 32:20, was the two time winner (1980 & 1981) of the 12 km Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco, was a three-time winner of the 10K Peachtree Road Race (1979–1981) in Atlanta, and twice ran the fastest American 10 km road efforts (on point to point courses) with a 28:06 2nd place at the 1981 Crescent City Classic in New Orleans and later a 28:04 win at Peachtree that year. He enjoyed success in the few marathons he ran, his fastest time coming in a 2nd-place finish in the 1981 Boston Marathon (2:10:26). On the track he was a three-time national champion in the 10,000 meters at the U.S. National Track & Field Championships (1978, 1979, and 1982) and the winner of the 1980 Olympic Trials 10,000 meters. In cross country he was a nine-time member of the U.S. squad at the World Cross Country Championships. His biggest international accomplishment was being the first (and still the only) American man to win the IAAF World Cross Country Championships; which he did twice, in 1980 and 1981. He retired from competitive racing in 1992. </video> <video> Chet Curtis: A rare singing moment! We miss him so much! Description: Chet Curtis and Natalie Jacobson, brought New England the news with such class and dignity. They were a very rare combination. Newscenter 5 on WCVB was the "go to" station for in depth and reliable news. Chet passed away in January of 2014. On occasion Chet would fill in as co-host with me. Description: 57% of us do not understand the Bill of Rights. Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, set out to bring the Bill of Rights to life. With very emotional stories she, along with her co-author, Ellen Alderman, do just that. The book is called "In Our Defense". From their trip to death row to meet the Tison Brothers who were charged with Capital murder to the Chicago case of Rudy Linares, the father who disconnected his 15 month old comatose baby boy from his respirator and cradled him while he died. It is amazing that the 400 words, written by James Madison 226 years ago continue to be the backbone of our rights as Americans. This is a great read! </video> <video> Young People of Ireland speak out! Description: Before the Divorce laws changed in Ireland in 1996, the young people that we met at Trinity College had a lot to say about the laws, the church, contraception and education. </video> <video> Joan Lunden/Good Morning America: Why pregnant women should never smoke! Description: Smoking during pregnancy can cause a baby to be born too early or to have low birth weight—making it more likely the baby will be sick and have to stay in the hospital longer. A few babies may even die. Smoking during and after pregnancy is a risk factor of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). </video> <video> A young Robert "Bobby" Kennedy Jr.: Talks about his father, uncle and his future. Description: Bobby Kennedy talks about the tragedies of his Father and Uncle's deaths and calls them "an occupational hazard". He discusses his future...will it be politics, or not? Bobby had just written a book about Judge Frank M. Johnson Jr., an Alabama Judge who was so instrumental in desegregating the South. Although he was a classmate and friend of George Wallace, they parted ways on the issues of integration. Despite the odds, Frank integrated almost every institution in Alabama with his rulings. </video>
