The Musikmesse 1984 in Frankfurt was a great year for ENGL and laid the foundation for a success story that is second to none. The first programmable guitar amp was simply a sensation, something that had never existed before. Edmund Engl had the brilliant idea in the early 1980s. He wasn't an electronics freak, but a musician.
