The SD bodices run pretty true to size and I got the large, but next time I think I'd try medium since they close all the way before I can cinch them more. It's not as glamorous as it looks, there's a lot of heat and sweat involved especially during the sanding process and heat lamination. I create all of my own original designs by making lots of sketches before refining the final versions, tracing those to make the vector files in Illustrator, which are then sent to a local waterjet company to cut the vein frames out of aluminum sheet. The waterjet process leaves a burr on the edges, so I sand those all by hand which is my least favorite part of the process, then they're taken to a local powder coating vendor to coat them with color. Since I'm working out of the 2nd bedroom of my living space I can't do this or the waterjet cutting at home. A waterjet machine in the size needed is out of my budget. Once the frames are coated & picked up, they're laminated between an iridescent film and clear vinyl, heated, pressed, and cut out. There's a tutorial on my channel here for making a low cost version with most of the same materials except for the aluminum sheet - it's very expensive to cut a single set of wing frames from aluminum via waterjet and aluminum doesn't play nicely with laser cutters, I have to cut mine in large batches.
