This amazing process happens by the protein itself and is also assisted by enzymes. Finally, multiple proteins can come together to form subunits of a bigger protein complex which is the eventual product. Not only the process is wonderful, but also the enzymes that help and guid the proteins through the process are themselves proteins... so, if you need proteins to fold proteins, how could this process evolve?
