Still, revenge tours are revenge tours, so... My usual thing is to do a big 4 focus Pluck of Many hit at the end to put a stamp on it, but in this case it turned out a smaller huddle smash on the Dragon's nose was probably more satisfying. Overall, a pretty clean stomping just the same. BUILD USED is below, though tbh you probably could get away with just about any build to do this I think. I. just. can't. stop! </video> <video> Deleting Macaque Chief's Health Bar Before He Can Vanish / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: I'm very happy with this boss fight. The Macaque Chief is a repeating boss in Black Myth Wukong that can't be killed in the first few encounters. They usually disappear at about half health, leaving a green teleport effect. I wanted to see if I could take 100% of their health off before that happened, and if so, what would happen? Turns out you can - at least, you can in NG+3 at max level 342. Turns out you get both the teleport effect and the boss death ashes effect one after the other. Made me happy to do this as in all my previous runs the boss had scurried away with a little health still remaining and until now I wasn't sure it was even possible. Turns out it was not only possible, but easy too. BUILD USED Yaksha Armor Set Dark Iron Staff Weaver's Needle Wandering Wight spirit Amber Prayer Beads Auspicious Lantern 3 x Cat's Eye Beads Immortal Blessing Gourd Loong Balm drink Breath of Fire soak 3 x Steel Ginseng soaks Enhanced Ginseng Pellets Loong Aura Amplification Pellets Septenary Heartfire Pill Ginseng Pellets </video> <video> Let Minions Solo Him / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Cyan Loong Boss Description: So I started wondering if it was possible for the Pluck of Many clones in Black Myth Wukong to solo a boss in NG+++. The next boss in my run was Cyan Loong, and it turned out they couldn't solo him... that is, until I spec'd my build for summoning them three times instead of the usual max of two. BUILD: Dark Iron Staff Gore-Eyed Daoist Spirit (for extra mana mainly) Curios: Tridacna Pendant (for faster spell recovery), 3 x Beast Buddhas, Gold Button Supreme Gourd with Loong Balm drink Soaks: Turtle Tear, Bee Mountain Stone, Slumbering Beetle Husk, Mount Lingtai Seedlings Medicines: Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets, Loong Aura Amplification Pellets, Septenary Heartfire Pill, Amplifications Pellets Pretty much had to guzzle the Gourd over and over to restore spells to get the third group in fast enough, but that's about it. With enough duplicates Cyan Loong gets interrupted enough to stop attacking long enough for the duplicates to win. Also, I popped damage medicines but I have no idea if they had any impact on the dup's at all, just did it anyway just in case. </video> <video> Tiger's Acolyte Using Only Resolute Counterflow / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: Beating Tiger's Acolyte in Black Myth Wukong using only the Resolute Counterflow skill. Resolute Counterflow is a skill in Black Myth Wukong that is triggered by doing a light attack or light attack combo and then timing a heavy attack like you would a parry. If you time it correctly you get a moment of invincibility where you cannot be damaged and you can counter with a big attack. The only caveat is you MUST have a focus point available to use it. This is why I have gain focus on my Gourd's brews - drink up to gain focus easily! Be aware though, bosses/enemies input read, meaning if you drink up to gain a focus point, they will more often than not immediately leap at you and hit you. For this reason it's always good practice to create space before guzzling. The Resolute Counteflow skill tree (under Smash Stance) can be upgraded and unlocks 'Skyfall', which is the chance to do a second follow up attack after the first Resolute Counterflow attack - hence the 'flow' part I guess. Due to the skill being lost in translation, a lot of players seem to think you have to do a light attack combo to trigger Resolute Counterflow, but you do not. A single light attack timed right followed by a heavy also timed right is all you need - and don't forget to continue the flow with Skyfall for big damage. Here I used the Yaksha set for 30% increased damage and Spellbinder for extra damage too. This reduces the number of hits necessary to win, but isn't necessary. If you time Resolute Counterflow right, even with a weak build you would only need to do a couple extra to get the win. That said, you can make this do even more damage by speccing for crits since it's possible to get an almost given crit on the Skyfall attack every time with the right setup (the gloves that give crit on using a focus point help out I think, whatever they're called). Another good set to run with Resolute Counterflow is the fully upgraded Pilgrims set. If you run everywhere, you'll always be guaranteed to have a focus point ready whenever you encounter an enemy. Finally, Resolute Counterflow is fun, but it requires practice to get used to using it right. I guarantee you though, once you 'get it', you'll use it all the time. </video> <video> No Phase 2 For Yellow Wind Sage / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: It was soooo much fun making quick work of Yellow Wind Sage in my fourth playthrough of Black Myth Wukong. This is a tough boss in previous playthroughs, though the hardest will always be the first one. Still, to make this happen like it did here, I had to do all the right things in the right order or bam, Yellow Wind Sage would make short work of me instead as my build has no defense at all. THE BUILD I'M USING HERE Yaksha Armor Set Dark Iron Staff Weaver's Needle Wandering Wight spirit Amber Prayer Beads Auspicious Lantern 3 x Cat's Eye Beads Immortal Blessing Gourd Loong Balm drink Breath of Fire soak 3 x Tiger Relic soaks Enhanced Ginseng Pellets Loong Aura Amplification Pellets Septenary Heartfire Pill Ginseng Pellets BTW, I haven't tried to optimize my build at all, it is what it is. I just like playing with the Yaksha set on when all is said and done because it looks cool. And of course this is NG+3 (fourth playthrough) and my character is max level 342. </video> <video> Toying With Gore-Eye Daoist / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: Gore-Eye Daoist is a fun, well designed boss imo. Very enjoyable, even in your fourth playthrough of Black Myth Wukong (NG+++) at max level (342). Notice also how well the camera coped with it when he was near the tree and I used the Cloud Step skill to zoom passed him, and ended up fighting him from right beside the tree. I dunno, I just thought the camera handled that really well. He has some extra moves that he didn't get time to do here too, and a little wonky jig-dance attack that's kind of hilarious. Oh well, maybe in NG+4 I'll prolong the fight so he does them. </video> <video> Wrecking Mad Tiger / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: A quick ending to the secret 'Mad Tiger' boss in Black Myth Wukong NG+3 while at max level (342). He was tricky in the first playthrough, a real tough boss. Here he can one shot me if he hits me, but the chain of skills/combo's used here lock him down completely. If he can't attack, he can't one shot me, that's the philosophy 😁 Or as Mr. Miyagi would say, "No can attack, no need defend". Or maybe I made that up. 🤣 Gear wise nothing special here. I didn't bother looking at what my build was, so if you max out damage I guess this could go even faster. My Gourd has focus gain brews though to make sure I can always have focus points available for a Resolute Counterattack, and I always have a medicine equipped for resetting both spells and focus. Also, read the lore about the Mad Tiger, made me feel sorry for him! https://blackmythwukong.fandom.com/wiki/Mad_Tiger </video> <video> One-Shot Ganking Macaque Chief #2 / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: Pretty happy with this. I wanted to drain the Macaque Chief of their health bar in encounter #1 and do so without a one-shot (https://youtu.be/DCAa-Q-LCb8) but in this second encounter I really wanted to do it again but with a one-hit kill. If you didn't know, you can't kill this boss in the first couple of encounters - they vanish before you can deplete their health. So it's satisfying to at least deplete their health fully before that happens on your revenge tour at max level (342) in NG+++. This wasn't as simple as just getting OP damage though. To do it you have to set everything up correctly. In this case, making it happen required a crit to trigger and keeping the boss away long enough to prevent a minion from chipping at their health before the one-shot (otherwise it wouldn't be a one-shot). The one thing to solve that was to run out and cloud step back, leaving a decoy to distract the boss long enough to do the Pluck of Many summon and complete the job. Honestly I love working this stuff out, it's as much fun to me as fighting properly to style on the boss. BUILD: Jingubang staff Weaver's Needle Gore-Eye Daoist Yaksha Armor set Curios: Beast Buddha x 3, Gold Button, Auspicious Lantern Gourd: Immortal Blessing with Breath of Fire & 3 xTiger Relic soaks Buffs: Ginseng Pellets (to build focus) Gore-Eye Daoist damage buff Ring of Fire spell Loong Aura Amplification Pellet Gourd drink Cloud-step (Breath of Fire & Auspicious Lantern damage buff) The rest is self-explanatory in the video. Still loving the hell out of this game, even on the fourth playthrough! </video> <video> Seriously Scorning "Tiger Vanguard"s Words / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: I wanted this to be a flashier fight but I no hit it first time and was happy to leave it at that. If you're in your first playthrough this is a pretty fun fight imo - I certainly didn't no damage it first time in that run, he was quite tricky with how he easily interrupts your moves and doesn't stay immobilized for long. But it was and still is a fun fight in NG+++ at max level (342). Though it is a bit strange how he shares the same name as a major boss but with "" around it. Strange decision that one. </video> <video> Stomping Chen Loong / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: Chen Loong is easy to beat in any playthrough, hard to no damage if you want to fight him fair, and super easy to no damage in NG+3 if you want to just kill him fast. After four playthroughs, I was happy to make it go fast. BUILD Nothing special. Yaksha set for damage, big head for the usual knock down, a medicine to enable a second immobilize so he couldn't input read and fly away like he always does, and thrust stance since smash and pillar stance aren't great against this long-necked mofo. </video> <video> Captain Lotus-Vision One-Shot / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: So incredibly satisfying to one shot this mofo. This is at max level (342) on NG+++ (that's the fourth playthrough). Why so satisfying? This boss is...well, if you know, you know. BUILD: Jingubang staff Weaver's Needle Snake Sheriff Yaksha Armor set Curios: Beast Buddha x 3, White Seashell Waist Chain, Auspicious Lantern Gourd: Immortal Blessing with Breath of Fire & 3 xTiger Relic soaks Buffs: Captain Wise-Voice health debuff/attack buff (every 3 minutes until you kill the boss, so kill Lotus-Vision BEFORE Wise-Voice) Loong Aura Amplification Pellet Amplification Pellet Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellet Gourd drink: Immortal Blessing with Breath of Fire & 3 x Tiger Relic soaks Process: Full 4 focus already ready to go, buff up, cloud strike, immobilize while in cloud strike, whack. Note that this is the result of a lucky crit since my crit chance % isn't that great with this setup. But, you can go with a crit chance build and do the same probably, I dunno, never did it. Didn't need to 😜 </video> <video> One-Shot Kang-Jin Star / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: For a moment I wasn't sure one-shotting Kang-Jin Star was possible in NG+++ while also going no damage. I tried a few different methods and most got her health bar down to almost nothing but not quite zero, and most of them ended up catching a bit of lightning damage. The idea here was my first idea which I wanted to avoid as it isn't as cool as other ideas I had, but in the end this is the one I went with. This is a true one-shot with no damage as the boss takes no damage prior to the hit, which is the hardest part to achieve in one-shot runs when you use the Pluck of Many duplicates to make it happen. I don't think it's a 'one-shot' when the boss has already taken a bunch of damage from minions before the final hit. To me, one-shot is ONE-shot aka one single attack to do the job... and here we get exactly that. BUILD: Jingubang staff Weaver's Needle Gore-Eye Daoist Yaksha Armor set Curios: Beast Buddha x 3, Gold Button, Auspicious Lantern Gourd: Multi-Glazed Gourd with Breath of Fire & 3 xTiger Relic soaks Buffs: Gore-Eye Daoist damage buff Immobilize (while she's in the middle of her first attack for max dmg boost) Loong Aura Amplification Pellet (more attack/crit etc) Gourd drink (last sip for biggest damage boost) Septenary Heartfire Pill (to reset spells for a second Pluck of Many spell) Cloud-step (Breath of Fire & Auspicious Lantern damage buff) Profit! Did I mention I absolutely LOVE this game? </video> <video> Demoralizing Captain Wise-Voice / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: Even I didn't expect to absolutely destroy Captain Wise-Voice in my fourth Black Myth Wukong playthrough (NG+3, Max Level 342) like I did here. But after finding him a handful in my first playthrough, this felt great! 😁 BUILD USED is below but just know it wasn't min-maxed or anything but these are the key components: Yaksha Armor Set Jingubang staff Weaver's Needle Non-pure spirit Gold Button Curio 3 x Cat's Eye Beads curios Immortal Blessing Gourd Loong Balm drink 3 x Tiger Relic soaks 1 other useless soak for Ring of Fire which I didn't use lol) Enhanced Ginseng Pellets Loong Aura Amplification Pellets Septenary Heartfire Pill Ginseng Pellets </video> <video> A Somewhat OK No Damage Fight With Fuban / Black Myth Wukong NG+3 Description: As far as big boss fights go, Fuban in Black Myth Wukong isn't too bad. He seems intimidating in your first playthrough but he's got very forgiving moves to dodge or 'Rock Solid' parry. That said, my NG+3 fight didn't go as I'd hoped. I managed to take no damage, but the crits I was hoping for from spec'ing out for crit chance didn't happen, so I didn't get the big flashy 'Pluck of Many' minion smash at the end that I wanted. Both smash attempts in the fight failed to crit miserably 😭 At the end he still had some health left so I thought, well, just transform and that'll be cool - but he basically died instantly so you really don't even see the transform either. 🤷‍♂️ Oh well. And I think I missed just about every perfect dodge served at the table. 😔 I didn't really want to repeat this fight because it goes on for a while with not much happening. That, and I've also never been a fan of big bosses, let alone big bosses with lock-on points that can make you swing and miss a lot, like you see happen in this fight. I mean, I could have positioned myself better I suppose to limit that happening, but you know, I didn't. 🤣 Happy to take my no damage warts and all and move on to the next boss - especially since I also don't like hurting Rhino Beetles, even when they are Yaoguai King's of the desert! One thing I'll give Fuban is that he's not a frustrating boss. I don't find anything particularly bad about him other than his legs being a bit hard to hit depending on your lock on, but that never gets in the way of beating him. If you switch your lock-on around like I didn't, you'll have better luck with that too, so it's partly my own fault that I hit the air as much as the boss here. I also like the environment here. For some reason I get a better framerate here than anywhere else in the game, and I like that! Well hopefully you'll enjoy the boss fight just the same. Fuzzy out! </video> <video> A Single Thrust Stance Hit to One-Shot Yin Tiger (NG+3) + 13 No Dmg Attempts To Get There Description: Normally when bosses in Black Myth Wukong get one-shot it's with smash stance and, just as often, a bunch of minions to add to the damage. It will also typically involve using medicines for extra damage buffs. But for this I wanted to set a challenge to try to do it with a single thrust attack with no medicines. I actually didn't think it could be done tbh, yet I wanted to try since I was thinking, maybe... Anyway it took a few attempts of trying different builds before I settled on a very simple approach that worked almost straight away. But along the way I ended up no damaging Yin Tiger 13 times, or 14 if you count the final one shot. I decided to include all of those in one video so you could come along for the ride. The build I finally used is shown at the end. </video>
