Xavier Suarez is a highly accomplished pianist, renowned vocal coach, and gifted piano teacher with a true passion for classical music. He currently resides in East Lansing, MI with his wife, Dr. Nermis Mieses (also a talented musician and Oboist), and their two wonderful children. Xavier's dedication to sharing the joys of classical music with people of all ages and abilities is evident in his work as a private piano teacher and recitalist, as well as his role as founder of the acclaimed Teclado Music Institute. Pianist Vid Homsak was born in Slovenia on July 7, 2000. Besides being a well trained and talented pianist and musician, Vid is currently a Theoretical Physics MSci 4th year undergraduate at Imperial College London. Vid began his musical path at the age of 6 in the class of Mag. Saša Gerželj Donaldson at the Conservatoire for Music and Ballet Maribor, where he graduated from Music - Piano in 2017 with exception, alongside attending regular high school. In 2013 he passed the entrance exams for the University for Music and Performing Arts in Graz (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz - KUG) where he had piano lessons with Prof Art. Mag. Eike Straub until 2018. At the age of 7 Vid debuted as the soloist with the Piano Concerto in C Major by Johann Baptist Vanhal. In 2010 he performed the Piano Concerto No. 11 by Joseph Haydn in D-major. During 2016 Vid also performed Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat Major by Ludwig Van Beethoven in with KUG's Symphonic Orchestra in Graz, and in Gleisdorf, and in 2022 with Imperial College's ICSO Symphonic Orchestra in London. Vid has received multiple awards over the years. Already in his first year of playing he achieved 3rd place as the youngest participant at the International Competition "ITHAKA 2007" in Ljubljana, and 4th place at the International Competition "Ars Nova" in Trieste, Italy in 2008. During 2011 at the International Competition "Associazone Culturale Musicale »EURITMIA«, 15. Concorso internazionale per Giovani strumentisti," Povoletto, Italy, Vid received a golden plaque and a special award Premio Presidenzza Consiglio Regione FVG for his performance of Elegie Op. 3, by Sergei Rachmaninoff. In November of that same year, he attended the international competition "The 4th Young Pianist of the North International Competition" in Newcastle, where he achieved 3rd place as the first Slovenian participant. Furthermore, at the "No. 2. International Piano competition, Forum per taste 2015” in Banska Bistrica, Slovakia, Vid received the special award for the best performance of the Slovakian musical piece as the youngest participant in the competition older than 18 years old. When I finished it, I couldn't listen to it for a few weeks, because it made me weep, remembering all my lost loves. 👑 "Requiem for Lost Loves: A Powerful and Emotional Performance by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra" On a happier "note, " I was also very fortunate to meet a new friend and colleague in 2020, the wonderful Conductor Anthony Armore, a conductor and Impresario from Vienna, Austria (my original home). Anthony has worked tirelessly to arrange and conduct a number of my orchestra compositions, in Slovakia, Serbia, and Hungary, with wonderful orchestras. Since Anthony's first performance and conducting of my orchestral music, I have also had orchestra performances in the US, Italy, Spain, and South America. The toy march idea came from the toy soldiers I loved as a boy, the Toy Story movies, and a piece by Robert Schumann for children titled "The Happy Farmer." ... In 2006, Valeriya went to study at Ivan Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National University of Arts in Kharkov, Ukraine. In Kharkov she met and married her husband Alexander, and they eventually had their son together. Valeriya's husband Alexander is also a musician, and they perform together using the name "Kizka Music - Alexander & Valeria." Valeriya, Alexander, and their son were living a peaceful and happy life together in Kharkov until Putin needlessly invaded Ukraine in February 2022. They wisely decided to temporarily move to Kusadasi, Turkey to protect their son from the war, and then recently moved again to Bad Waldsee in Germany. They will hopefully return to their home in Kharkov Ukraine when the war is over. Valeriya has performed and recorded my "Piano Sonata 3, Mvt. 3," "Spring Prelude," "Summer Pastoral," and this cheerful piece "Toy March," that I composed for children and the Christmas holiday season. Pianist Vid Homsak was born in Slovenia on July 7, 2000. Besides being a well trained and talented pianist and musician, Vid is currently a Theoretical Physics MSci 4th year undergraduate at Imperial College London. Vid began his musical path at the age of 6 in the class of Mag. Saša Gerželj Donaldson at the Conservatoire for Music and Ballet Maribor, where he graduated from Music - Piano in 2017 with exception, alongside attending regular high school. In 2013 he passed the entrance exams for the University for Music and Performing Arts in Graz (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz - KUG) where he had piano lessons with Prof Art. Mag. Eike Straub until 2018. At the age of 7 Vid debuted as the soloist with the Piano Concerto in C Major by Johann Baptist Vanhal. In 2010 he performed the Piano Concerto No. 11 by Joseph Haydn in D-major. During 2016 Vid also performed Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat Major by Ludwig Van Beethoven in with KUG's Symphonic Orchestra in Graz, and in Gleisdorf, and in 2022 with Imperial College's ICSO Symphonic Orchestra in London. Vid has received multiple awards over the years. Already in his first year of playing he achieved 3rd place as the youngest participant at the International Competition "ITHAKA 2007" in Ljubljana, and 4th place at the International Competition "Ars Nova" in Trieste, Italy in 2008. During 2011 at the International Competition "Associazone Culturale Musicale »EURITMIA«, 15. Concorso internazionale per Giovani strumentisti," Povoletto, Italy, Vid received a golden plaque and a special award Premio Presidenzza Consiglio Regione FVG for his performance of Elegie Op. 3, by Sergei Rachmaninoff. In November of that same year, he attended the international competition "The 4th Young Pianist of the North International Competition" in Newcastle, where he achieved 3rd place as the first Slovenian participant. Furthermore, at the "No. 2. International Piano competition, Forum per taste 2015” in Banska Bistrica, Slovakia, Vid received the special award for the best performance of the Slovakian musical piece as the youngest participant in the competition older than 18 years old. In 2016 Vid attended the summer school held by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, where he won 4th place at their international competition. My family is from Vienna, Austria, and I was trained as a bassist and cellist as a boy, and switched to electric bass as a teen, and later to guitar and piano. I earned my BA in guitar, and Masters in piano, orchestration, and composition, while also being a touring and studio guitarist and keyboardist with national acts, composer, and music professor.
