Description: Rhubarb is typically grown in the ground and is a staple of allotment and vegetable patches nationwide. This Rhubarb crown has produced some good rhubarb this year at home in my garden but its outgrown its location. Putting a spade through the crown looks brutal but this is how others do it on YouTube so that's how I'm doing it. </video> <video> Grow potatoes indoors in winter, this is how I do it. Description: Do this and get a 'head start' from other gardeners. When they're planting potatoes with a few shoots, you'll be planting potatoes with shoots and roots. I've been starting potatoes off in winter indoors like this for a number of years now and so know it works. This is a compilation 2 part video that shows me planting the potatoes and moves on to a growth check after about six weeks of slow indoor growing in a cold garage. When we moved into spring and as the weather warmed up I moved the potato plants up into the water buckets to grow on outdoors to harvest. Never done this before. Description: A benefit of growing rhubarb in a bucket is that it can be moved to a spot where it will receive full sun during the growing season and out of sight when it is dormant. Rhubarb is typically grown in the ground and is a staple of allotment and vegetable patches nationwide. However, if space is an issue, it can grow well in a large pot or bucket as long it is well watered, as pots and buckets tend to dry out more quickly, especially during the warmer months. The buckets I grow in are typically to small for this job but I'm going with what I've got. Fingers crossed. </video> <video> Grow Potatoes Are these White potatoes wearing a Red overcoats. Just starting to chit. Description: Are these white potatoes wearing a red overcoats? Each white area has a chit 'slap bang' in the middle of it? This is 'Nemo'. Breed from white and red potatoes and having some characteristics of both. I've had them in a fridge to slow the chitting process down but Nemo is starting to get restless. Description: In this video shot some years ago I collect some Forrest bark and wood chip. Plant potatoes in it and finish off with a two bucket shootout. Just one potato planted in each bucket full of Forrest bark and wood chips. As an after thaught, I also added some blood fish and bone fertiliser and a sprinkling of coffee grounds. After that it was just water. A truly organic delivery of home grown organic potatoes. </video> <video> Grow patio pot mixed spicy salad leaves using a 'user friendly' pre loaded seed mat Description: Me and my dog Molly knocked this video out some years ago. Grow 'cut and come' spicy salad leaves mix using pre loaded seed mats. This is something you might want to do. These 'user friendly' seed mats are a great help if you have problems seeing or picking up small seeds or just want to sow a lot of seeds quickly. </video> <video> How to Grow Shallot purchase from the Grocery store in buckets with a WARNING! Description: How I Grow Shallot purchase from the Grocery store in buckets. I planted 4 store bought shallots in a bucket and got a big return. This video shows the planting and tracks progress until harvest. These shallots probably needed another month to 'bulb up' as I'm sure they would but I took them as green onions. Well worth doing. WARNING! These shallots are the round types. If you want to grow the longer gourmet shallots you will need to grow from seed. </video> <video> Dog having fun. Description: Shop bought Garlic removed from a fridge & brought back to life. I spotted a half used garlic bulb in the fridge and thought' 'I'm having that'. After a few days at room temperature and the garlic cloves sitting on some damp tissue, 'We have Roots and we have Shoots'. I'm trying some in a small bucket and planting some 'reserves' in yogurt pots. Let's see how they go. </video> <video> Grow Potatoes. This potato plant needs a bigger home before it's moved outdoors. Description: Potatoes grown indoors in winter in yogurt pots transferred to small buckets to grow on outdoors through spring and into summer then harvested. If 'cabin fever' is an issue, give your growing season a 'fast start' by doing this. I've done it for a number of years now and it works for me.
