Tout ça: 18:22 4. Clopin clopant: 21:18 I found this record at Melody Supreme Records in Charlottesville, VA.Out of curiosity, I searched for these tracks on Spotify. I found them, but also discovered that these recordings had been digitized rather poorly. While my particular copy is by no means in excellent condition, I thought it was worth digitally immortalizing a version of this album with EQ and dynamics closer to those originally intended by the engineer. Phono stage is a Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 (stock PSU) Preamp is an ART Pro MPA II ADC is a Zoom UAC-8. The music was recorded into Pro Tools at 24/48, where I used the Acon Digital "DeClick" plugin to reduce some clicks and pops from deep dirt. On tracks 4 and 8 a bit of additional noise reduction was used due to more noise on these tracks. Watch in 4K for best audio quality - 320kbps AAC, which many argue is largely indistinguishable from lossless. </video> <video> 1950 LP on a 1962 Turntable Description: "Your Dance Date with Harry James" by Harry James and his Orchestra, released on Columbia Records in 1950, just two years after they became the first to make 33 1/3 long playing records commercially available. Played on an Empire 398 turntable with a Shure M97xe cartridge into a Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 phono stage. interface is an RME Fireface UFX. Converted at 24/48. Very slight de-crackle applied with Acon Digital De-Click II. No other processing applied. This record and turntable have personal significance for me. The front of the record sleeve says "To Ruth from Bill, Christmas 1952". This record was given as a gift from my grandfather to my grandma before they were married. The A-side has a sticker on it with my Grandma's maiden name, indicating it was from her collection. She gave me this record a few years ago and I've been looking forward to preserving it in this way - she always kept her records in immaculate shape, even when she was 22. I think the fidelity and condition of this record - now over 70 years old - is remarkably good. The turntable was given to me by her husband, my grandpa, when I was in high school. It used to live in a music classroom at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where he was a professor for many years. It feels fitting therefore to have this disc playing on this turntable.
