Not only does this craft teach kids to think about recycling and repurposing, but it also doubles as a fall and Christmas craft. One one side we paint a pumpkin for fall. Use if for Halloween or Thanksgiving. Then on the other side we paint a snowman for Christmas. Display them on a shelf or near the front door. The only trick to this Thanksgiving Craft or Christmas Craft is to use a thick enough piece of wood that the blocks will stand on their own. Additionally, if you stair step the height of your wood pieces they look even cuter. Sorry for the delay in posting, we've been super busy filming "The Life of Riley" for YIPPEE.tv and a kinetic sand project for "The Kelly Clarkson Show". Nevertheless, today we have a really fun bath bomb craft that looks so good, you could eat them. Well, you really can't, but they look fantastic and fizz like crazy in bath. What we love most about this bath bomb recipe is that we use coconut oil with just a little bit of water so our citric acid doesn't activate. Our easy bath bomb recipe also isn't smashed into a circle most, but rather a cupcake tin. This make it easier for kids to participate. The frosting we make for the top of the cupcake is actually real frosting. You can take it off the bath bomb and drop the cake portion in the bath or put the entire cupcake into the water. However, the topping really completes the visual. INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE FLUFFY FALL PUMPKIN SLIME: - Elmers glue - Saline solution with boric acid - Baking soda - Orange acrylic paint - Shaving cream </video> <video> How to Make a DIY Cloud Light from a Plastic Bottle | Kids Craft Bloopers Description: Hello friends, We're really excited about this kids craft because we've been wanting to try them for a while. Today, we are showing you how to make a DIY Cloud Light using a plastic bottle and few other items around the house. The most complicated part of this craft is puncturing a whole in the bottom of the plastic bottle. Hint....have mom or dad help you with this part. After that, string fishing line through the bottom of the water bottle and out the lid. Then leave enough slack at the top to tie a knot and hang from the ceiling. Now, you're ready to hot glue polyester batting around your plastic bottle. The final step is to unwind your fairy lights and insert them into the bottle. You'll be left with the switch, which you can hot glue to the top of water bottle and hide with batting. The final result is amazing. We've been receiving a lot of emails lately about making another bath bomb video. However, this time we wanted to try a different recipe that could be packed inside of silicone molds instead of traditional bath bomb molds. So today, we're making mini heart-shaped bath bombs that fizz a lot. The best part about this craft is that the recipe calls for coconut oil as to bind the other ingredients together instead of water. In the past, we've noticed too much water will actually active the citric acid. Something you definitely don't want to happen until you're ready to use them in the bath or shower. We were pleasantly surprised at how well our bath bombs held together and the beautiful aroma they let out as the bath bomb was dropped in the water. Ingredients necessary to make heart shaped fizzy bath bombs: • 1/4 cup of citric acid • 1/4 c of baking soda • 2 Tablespoons of cornstarch • 2 Table spoons of melted coconut oil • 1-3 drops of kid friendly essential oils • Food coloring • 1 mini silicone heart mold or any other mod of your choice. Please note: if your bath bomb mixture doesn't hold it's shape when squeeze it, you probably need to add a little more melted coconut oil. If the mixture is too crumbly add a few more drops of coconut oil to keep the ingredients bonded. These little bath bomb hearts turned out super cute and could be put in a jar for valentine's day, mother's day or make a great teachers gift. We hope you give them a try! </video> <video> Raised Salt Painting | Easy Summer Craft for Kids Description: We're so happy you're joining us today because we have an easy summer craft for kids or adults of all ages. Salt painting! Salt painting is really simple and only requires 3 ingredients: glue, salt and food coloring. In our tutorial we used food coloring to make our own water colors and used FINE salt to spread over our design. Now, we did try chunky salt as well, but the bigger salt crystals didn't spread the water colors as quickly or as smooth. We totally recommend the fine salt. Another tip, is to draw your design on your canvas or paper before starting. And finally, we also learned that a bigger paint brush absorbs more water color and spreads faster in the salt than a thin paint brush. This would be a fun summer craft for kids at camp, in school or at home. Although we typically test our crafts before filming, we only had so much product to test and had to do this in one take. Fidgets are really popular right now. So we wanted to try making stress balls with four different substances: Cloud Slime, Play-dough, Kinetic Sand & Floam. Please note: you can use whatever color balloon you want, we chose White, in hopes the color from the play-dough and kinetic sand would show through the balloon. This recipe doesn't use Borax, instead we activate the slime with saline solution. The key is to ensure that your saline solution contains boric acid.
