There is something in God’s divine plan that we bring to others—whether it’s physical healing prayer, emotional healing prayer, or deliverance prayer. He loves to use the body of Christ so that we remain connected and witness the power of God working through us. It’s not about being “God’s man or woman of power for the hour.” Rather, it’s about the ministry of the whole body of Christ, serving and ministering to one another as the body of Christ.

Next, let’s dive into the prayer model. This model has been developed over the years to help guide prayer for people carrying any kind of unhealed trauma. First, let me reassure you—you don’t have to memorize the entire model! Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief at that. The model simply provides steps to follow when praying for those with unhealed trauma. And here’s an essential truth, though it may sound controversial to some: Yes, people can be healed from all their trauma through healing prayer. It doesn’t have to take years of counseling to recover. Through the power of God, healing prayer can mend the shattered soul, break the lies of the enemy, and free people from traumatic memories and images. In fact, we’ve seen those memories leave people’s minds entirely, no longer tormenting them. Adrian, for example, experienced this freedom, and those traumatic memories no longer haunt him—he’s truly free.

I’ll walk you through the prayer model step by step. Once we’re done, I’ll take your questions and then demonstrate by praying corporately. We’ve seen this prayer model work in various contexts, including Ukraine, where I’ve had the privilege of training over 10,000 people during the ongoing war. Despite the trauma of war, the Lord has brought profound healing. I’ve also had the privilege of working in Rwanda, training the Catholic Church to heal the wounds of genocide, as well as seeing transformation in Brazil, South Africa, and the United States. This healing can happen one-on-one or corporately, and we should never limit what God can do. Amen?

The first step in this prayer model is interviewing the person. If you know someone with symptoms of trauma, don’t approach them to convince them they need prayer. Instead, intercede for them. Ultimately, they must recognize their need and be willing to receive prayer. When interviewing, ask about the main experience or action that caused their trauma and symptoms. If the person served in the military, thank them for their service and reassure them of its value. In this process, focus on identifying the main trauma that still haunts them, rather than trying to uncover every trauma.

This model is not a counseling session; it’s a prayer ministry. When someone starts sharing an extensive trauma story, listen for the information you need to pray. Once you have it, gently and respectfully stop them, letting them know you’re ready to begin praying. This approach focuses on addressing the main trauma, which often brings healing to other traumas as well.

It’s vital to create a safe, relational environment during prayer. Avoid loud or forceful approaches that might mimic TV evangelists. For example, Adrian once shared how a simple touch on his hand during prayer felt restraining because of his trauma, even though it wasn’t intended that way. Always ask for permission before touching someone, as even small actions can trigger traumatic responses. Keep the atmosphere calm and respectful, ensuring the person feels secure throughout the process.

This prayer ministry has brought healing to countless individuals. By following these steps, we can be vessels for God’s power, bringing freedom and restoration to those burdened by trauma.

And I have to tell you this, that this is probably the most difficult thing to keep focused on—this prayer. It's so much easier to do the first commandment than the second. But when Jesus was asked, "What's the greatest commandment in the law?" he said, "You tell me—you should love the Lord your God." If you've answered correctly, then Jesus himself added this: why did Jesus put that with it? He said the second is like it, that you will love your neighbor as yourself. So it's absolutely tied in—a continuum to commandment one—because John, in the words of John the beloved, in first John's or second John, said, "If you don't love your brother who you do see, how can you love God who you don't see?" The test of how we're doing commandment one is how we're doing at commandment two. But I'm going to read what he prayed: "I'm not asking on behalf of these alone," in other words, not just the disciples in the room, "but for those who will believe in me through their word." Through every believer that has come to faith in Jesus through the Apostolic witness of the early church and the letters they wrote, which have become the New Testament. Then what does he pray? This is the prayer of God for his church: "That they all may be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you." So we are talking about the oneness of the Godhead. We're not talking solitude; we're talking a substantive oneness that is like what the Godhead shares—that blows my mind. He's praying that we would be one like they are one. How are we doing? And you know, the most common thing I hear as soon as we say, "Well, if we're walking with this denomination, or that brother, or this sister, or that nation, or whatever..." you know, what haven't you heard? I mean, bad news seems to be on the mouths of the church more than the good news. The prayers of the devil—who's the accuser of the brethren—seem to be on the lips of believers more than the prayer of Jesus is on the lips of the believers: "That they all may be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, so they may also be in us." Why? Why does Jesus pray this prayer out of all the things he could have prayed for his disciples before he went to the cross? Why does he pray this prayer? He prays that they would be one so that—okay, dependent clause following—so that the world may believe that you sent me. This is revival power—when we become one, the entire world will know that the Father sent Jesus. And then he goes on to say, "The glory which you have given me, I have given to them so that they may be one." You already possess what it takes to be one with your brother, with your sister, with other believers, with other denominations. You possess it because God has given you—past tense—his glory so that you can be one just as we, the Trinity, are one: "I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected in unity so that,"—he says it again—"so that the world may know..." And Jesus, for the remission of sins, there is one mediator between man and God—the man Christ Jesus—you know, so that the world would know that you sent me and know that you love them just as you love me. This will unleash the love of God on the planet like nothing! I encourage you to pray this prayer every single day of your life. Pray with Jesus, co-labor with Jesus. It's a prayer that every Jew prays twice a day, even without the New Testament, because they pray the Shamaah. The Shamaah is the title of a prayer that Jews recite twice daily, every morning and every evening. Orthodox Jews, this prayer—often considered the most important prayer in Judaism—is taken from scripture and is composed of Deuteronomy 6:4-9: "Hear, O Israel, the Lord your God is one." That's what precedes: "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength." You have to know who he is, who you're loving, who you're beholding, in order to actually be transformed into that image: "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and all your mind. Again, if you're a preacher, you're gonna find yourself wanting to talk about ministry because it's what God is doing. He's cleansing the bride to be able to carry and steward the move of God that's coming, and that we're really at the beginning of. I feel like we're in the beginning stages of this awakening that is happening, this move of God. We're at this, the percolation has happened, we're at the kind of like phase 1, if you want to put face it on. That's a bit of a crass way to say it, but I hope you hear my heart. It’s this beginning stage.

The spirit of Elijah is mandated to restore both the pattern and the ordinances of God. Now, I’m gonna break down what that looks like. Where the spirit of Elijah, in simple terms, brings order where there’s disorder. So, I don’t know about you, but let’s take it to our own lives. Who has felt compelled—this is just some personal inventory in your heart—you feel this need to declutter your life right now? It’s because of what you carry. There’s an increase of the spirit of Elijah upon your life, and all of a sudden, anything that feels out of order, it’s unacceptable. Can you relate to that? It’s gonna manifest in the natural in your life, from cleaning out your emails. I know this sounds funny, to cleaning out the junk room, to the garage. I mean, it is like getting your finances in order. It’s like cleaning up those miscommunications and relationships, that stuff that is discombobulated and it’s out of order. You’re like, "I’m not—we’re done with that. There must be order and simplification."

It’s because it’s the spirit of Elijah on you. You recognize where there’s disorder, and you recognize the need and the necessity of order in this hour. Some of you are actually gonna bring order to your workplace. Some of you are gonna help bring order to the church. You’re gonna bring order to societal issues. Some of you are advocates in this room. You carry a call of justice. It goes beyond the church. It hits major issues that your cities, your towns are facing. You’re called to bring order.

We see this in 1st Kings. I love this portion of scripture; it’s probably one of my favorite portions of scripture because it’s so bold. The prophet Elijah, we see him here, and he challenges King Ahab once and for all, and he says who the nation of Israel is going to worship because it was out of order. And he says, "We’re no longer gonna have a divided nation. Half of us are worshipping Baal and half of us are worshipping Yahweh. We’re done with that. We’re gonna decide today once and for all who this nation is going to worship." We’re going to bring order where there’s disorder.

So, the spirit of Elijah challenges King Ahab and he says, "Meet me on Mount Carmel and bring all your false prophets and anyone that you want to bring, and let’s meet there, and I will call on my God, you and all your false prophets. But he said all your people, you call on your God, and we’ll see whose God responds." You know this story, right? And then, Prophet Elijah said, "Whoever God responds by fire, that’s the God this nation will worship." What is he doing? He’s bringing consecration, and he’s bringing order where there’s disorder. So, the spirit of Elijah is in full effect. Of course, on the prophet Elijah, this is the first person that we see this spiritual system at work through—the prophet Elijah.

So, what happens? It’s a powerful story. So, he says, "You choose the altar you want." He gave them their choice of real estate. Then he said, "You can choose the time of day that you want to go." They said, "We’ll go first." Great, you get your time. You get your chronological best choice, your opinion of what you think is the best slot. He said, "You can go as long as you want. You can do all the things you want to do to call on your god." So, they chant, they sing, they cut themselves, they dance, they do everything they can do to entice their god to respond. They go from morning until it says early evening. Some theologians say late afternoon. So, hours have gone by.

And I love this, and this is where Elijah is gangster, and I love this because he’s just bold. Like, he does not care. He’s like OG prophet. He’s like, "I’ve been in the cave; we’re going in. You try to kill me, I’m here to establish. I’m sick of it." Like, he got to the "I’m sick of it" moment. And the wild ones have gotten to the place where they’re sick of it. I really believe there has to come a point where you move in the spirit of Elijah because you get sick of it. And this is what we’re seeing

The human soul, because of Jesus, can return to the state of Shalom. Shalom does not merely mean peace; it encompasses wholeness and restoration from devastation. To say that I carry Shalom means my soul has been restored from devastation back to God’s original dream for my life. This is the message Jesus conveys.

He begins by addressing two groups of people. First, He says, "I’ve come to proclaim liberty to the captives." How does one become captive? Captivity happens when things are done to you that you never asked for—perhaps as a child, when someone physically or sexually abused you, or when you were placed in situations no child should endure. The trauma lingers, leaving scars that last for years. Consider the horrors of slavery, sexual trafficking, or human trafficking—chains and shackles placed upon people because of circumstances beyond their control. That is captivity. But Jesus declares, “I’ve come to set the captives free.” No matter your history, no matter what you’ve endured, you no longer need to be shackled to your past.

Captivity can also stem from family history—being bound by generational patterns of addiction, abuse, or dysfunction. People often define themselves by their family legacy, expecting to inherit the same struggles their parents or grandparents faced. Yet, the blood of Jesus Christ is stronger than any family history. Through Him, you don’t have to carry those burdens for the rest of your life.

The second group Jesus addresses is prisoners. Prisoners end up in bondage because of their own bad choices. They break the law, face judgment, and are sentenced, gaining a new identity as prisoners. Jesus says His power is so transformative that He can bring freedom even to those who became prisoners by their own actions. One of the enemy’s lies is that the consequences of your choices must define you forever. Growing up, many of us heard phrases like, “You made your bed, now lie in it.” This implies you’ll never escape the repercussions of your actions. But Jesus says otherwise—He can heal even that.

When we understand this, we begin to grasp the deeper meaning of the Year of Jubilee—a time when all that was lost, stolen, or squandered, even due to personal mistakes, is restored. Isaiah 61 emphasizes restoration to God’s original dream for our lives: to be His beloved children, blessed and well-pleasing to Him.

Isaiah 53:5 plays a crucial role in understanding the healing of trauma. This verse describes the suffering servant, the Messiah, who endured unimaginable pain for our healing. "By His wounds, we are healed." Before the cross, Jesus was turned over to Roman soldiers who beat Him, tore out His beard, spat on Him, and handed Him to a professional torturer. Using a Roman flagrum—a whip with leather straps embedded with bone and stone—they lashed Jesus 39 times, bringing Him to the brink of death. This brutal scourging was so severe that His skin was torn away, exposing bones and organs. It’s why He couldn’t carry the cross to Calvary.

First Peter 2:24 reiterates this: "By His wounds, we were healed." What Jesus endured had a redemptive purpose—He suffered trauma so our trauma could be healed. Many people are reluctant to talk about their trauma, believing no one could understand. This is a lie from the spirit of trauma, which thrives in darkness and secrecy. But when trauma is brought into the light and given to Jesus, it can be healed.

Jesus understands trauma like no one else. His suffering was unparalleled, and He empathizes with our pain. Often, people compare their healing process to peeling back the layers of an onion, fearing the depth and pain of their wounds. But Scripture never refers to us as vegetables. We are not onions; we are human souls.

When you get marked, imagine having a revelation that summer camps are available every day—you can get marked every single day. Then you realize, "Why am I living like this? Why am I satisfied with this when I could live like that?" John the Baptist was radically marked, but it wasn’t just a one-time event. He was marked again and again, over and over. To be mantled with the spirit of Elijah, we must grasp three key principles, beginning with the lifestyle of the messenger.

The lifestyle of the messenger must convey the weightiness of the message they carry. To be mantled with the spirit of Elijah, your lifestyle must align with the call of God on your life. John the Baptist lived an intense, consecrated life—locusts and honey, fasting. His life reflected the message he carried. He understood he couldn’t look like the world he was called to transform. He couldn’t bring a new order if he mirrored what he was trying to rebuild. There had to be contrast. He wasn’t just a messenger—he was the message.

In the same way, our lives must portray the message we carry. There are moments that challenge our ability to maintain our witness—like navigating frustrations at an airport. But in those moments, as in all others, our lifestyle must remain consistent. As preachers, ministers, or simply as believers, the way we interact, speak, and respond must reflect the call of God, whether on the pulpit, at home, or in traffic. Our lifestyle must be marked with the spirit of Elijah. We can’t afford to lose our witness because what we carry is too valuable for this hour.

On a practical level, our lifestyle must match our call. Our words, what we watch, the conversations we engage in, the music we listen to, and how we treat our bodies—all must align with the weight of our calling. We cannot live casually; we’re called to steward what God has placed on us. Today, too many seek influence without consecration, a voice without character, or gifting without anointing. But when you're in the trenches, you don’t need gifting—you need anointing. The anointing breaks the yoke. You’re looking for someone who has wrestled with God, someone with fruit and character, not just trendiness or clickbait moments.

Our world, cities, families, and churches need this depth. Yet, the world constantly seeks to domesticate our wildness, whether through busyness, striving, or man-pleasing. But to live wild for God, we must break free from survival mode and striving. Only then can we live consecrated, fully embodying the weight of our call.

When David asked Ahimelech, "Is there any weapon here?" it was a moment charged with divine purpose. Remember, Ahimelech was puzzled to see David alone. David told him it was the king's business, but Ahimelech didn’t know which king he meant. Ahimelech responded, “The sword of Goliath, whom you slew—here it is.”

Can you imagine the emotions flooding David’s heart as he held that sword? All the memories rushed back—moments of destiny, triumph, and calling. Yet, as glorious as Brownsville was, experiences like that can ruin you. They can become painful memories because everything afterward feels like a counterfeit or a shallow imitation. Those who have tasted the real move of God often feel the deepest pain when it’s absent.

For David, holding that sword was a reminder of who he was and why Saul would never be able to kill him. It reignited his sense of destiny.

Sometimes, we feel like retiring, like stepping back. But the Lord says, “You’re not here for applesauce and Leisure World.” Neither are you, and neither am I. If your children are trying to put you in a home—assisted or otherwise—you need to fold up your walker, beat them off with it, and declare, “I’m not leaving my house because I’m not done yet!” Then look to God and say, “Loosen these joints right now because I don’t feel like dying, relaxing, or quitting. I’m not finished yet!”

I remember standing at the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry with a clipboard in hand, ready to preach. A kid came up to me and said, “Give me your mantle.” I didn’t even think twice. I hit him on the head with the clipboard and said, “Go get your own! I’m not half done with mine yet.”

Now, I want to hear some noise! How many of you are not half done yet? How many of you still have a destiny to fulfill? David grabbed that sword, and it all came back—his calling, his purpose, and the assurance that Saul would never prevail against him. That same fire and determination are available to us today.

We do enough by violating God's word day and night. That’s why repentance is so crucial. You can't repent enough. Every time the Spirit of God brings something to your attention, every time your knowledge grows, or every time you feel that little conviction—repent. Confess it. Say, "Father, forgive me." The Bible says when you do that, the Judge will cleanse you of all unrighteousness.

What does that mean? It means He will drop the case against you. That’s why prideful and arrogant people end up cursed—they can’t admit their wrongs. If you can’t admit you’re wrong, Satan will keep legal grounds and rights to your life. Glory be to God! Once again, look at the prodigal son. When he came home, he said, "I’m going to go home and tell my father I have sinned." No excuses—just a confession. And when he got home, the father didn’t even want to hear it. Why? Because God is faithful and just to forgive. That’s His position. He just needs some evidence—a confession and an admission that you were wrong. Hallelujah!

You’ve got to admit it. It doesn’t matter if you admitted it at 12:00—admit it again at 3:00. If you admitted it at 6:00, admit it again at 6:01. And just keep thanking God for the blood. The blood is there for you. Your advocate doesn’t leave you. He sticks with you, saying, "I know you did it again, but I’m going back to the Judge on your behalf." He ever lives to make intercession. Every time you mess up, He’s still right there. The devil wants you to think God is done with you so that you’ll stop repenting, stop changing, and stop growing. But God told us to forgive 70 times seven in a day—how much more will He forgive you?

The blood is there. Just confess it. God is faithful and just to forgive. Don’t listen to anyone who says otherwise. Instead, pray: "Father, give me strength to overcome this. I’m tired of letting the devil come in and out of my life. Anoint me with fresh oil." God will give you grace to overcome it. But if you let condemnation take over, you’ll stop trying. You’ll quit, and if you run from God, you’ll never get free. That’s what amazes me—when members mess up, they stay away from church for weeks because they feel unworthy. But the issue isn’t messing up—it’s believing that you’re no longer worthy to come to church.

If that were true, there’d be no pastors, no preachers, no choir—just closed church doors. Sin isn’t just the "big" things like drinking or clubbing. There are sins of omission, commission, and everything in between. None of us are perfect. We all need the blood—every day, every hour. So when you mess up, don’t run from God. Come boldly to the throne and say, "Lord, you saw it. Strengthen me so I don’t give the enemy access to my life anymore."

Satan is the one you have to worry about when you mess up. He sees it and brings a case against you. But when you plead the blood, the case is dropped. That’s the power of the blood!

Now, John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy." If there’s any stealing, killing, or destruction, the thief is involved—not God. And when I say killing, I don’t just mean physical death—it’s the assassination of dreams, visions, destinies, and hope. The key is to make sure the devil doesn’t have legal grounds to operate. You can’t rebuke him until those legal grounds are removed.

Robert Henderson said something profound: "Most of us try to win battles on the battlefield, but they’re actually won in the courtroom." Before you go into battle—binding, loosing, praying, or decreeing—you’ve got to make sure everything is settled in the spirit realm. Otherwise, you’ll be fighting while the enemy has legal rights to wear you out. Remember the children of Israel

This is one of the most important sermons I could ever preach to you. It's one of the most important revelations I believe that's ever came to the body of Christ, because this explains why so much happens that we seemingly can't understand. And I like to preach it because, you know, I love bragging on God, and I don't ever like people, you know, saying or having a view of God that He is not loving and kind and not there for us. No, yes, He is. We just got to get the devil out of the way.

Proverbs 26, look at verse No. 2. "As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come." My God, as a bird by wandering or swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come. That means the curse has to look for a place to land. It can't just come. It doesn't just come, it comes. Like the birds have to seek for a place to land, the curse has to find a place to land. What is it looking for? Legal right. Legal precedent. The curse, well, you know who the father of curse is—Satan. And all of his actions in your life, he has to look for a place to land.

Now, the thing about birds—if you've ever had to deal with one, especially one that's built a nest—how many know, first of all, it's a hard thing? There was one in the house I lived in, from 2000, I wanna say 2004 up to like 2009. The birds had literally built a nest at my front door, on the little chandelier that hung. They built a nest when I moved in. I had to knock that thing down. That nest took me forever to get down because they look like they’re just easiness, but you start hitting at it, and it’s like concrete. It almost broke my chandelier trying to get the nest down.

Long and behold, I knocked that nest down, and in the right season, even though the nest was gone, the birds came back and just flew around, flying around like they were confused, like, “What in the world just happened? Where’s my nest? What in that... what nest that?” So, you know what they did? They built it again. So, I went out there and I knocked it down again. Didn’t stop, came back trying to build it again. I knocked it down again. So, you know what I had to do? I had to kill the bird. Don’t nobody write me, call me or nothing. Yeah, I killed both of them. I’m from Hooks, Texas. Don’t mess with—I know how to go country.

Why did I kill them? I had to kill them to stop them from building the nest. What am I trying to say? Until you remove the place for it to land, it’s gonna keep coming back, season after season after season after season. And the reason you keep dealing with the same thing over and over and over is because you’ve never dealt with the spirit. You’ve never dealt with its home. You’ve never dealt with its nest. You’ve never dealt with the grounds that it has to keep landing in your life. Glory be to God. You gotta get determined that some stuff, you’ve gotta remove the legal ground to. If he keeps coming back, it’s because he has access. And he’ll keep looking and keep looking. And that’s why you can get rid of things in seasons, and then in another season, that thing jumps right back on you. Because the same access points—you’re still doing the same things, you’re still saying the same things, you’re still acting the same way, you’re still committing the same transgressions. And you keep going back to court, back to court. Get out and go back to court, back to court.

And so, the curse needs a legal right in order to get into your life. Now, I’m going to make this statement and then I’m going to give you a few things to look for. And I don’t know if y’all have my PowerPoint back there queued up, but I want you to put up all these reasons. I believe it might be the third page or I’ll let you know. Actually, could you put that up there so I can see? Yeah, there you go.

Now, the curse causeless can’t come. We have to remove the legal grounds. Y’all listen, you can end up in court over a lot of cases. Do you know how many laws are on the books of the federal government, state government, and local governments? You can end up in court over your kids, where Satan gets a legal right to them. Over your marriage, over your finances, over your health, over your mind. You can end up in court over your business. Why? Because the areas in which there are unconfessed and unrepented transgressions in your life will be the areas you end up being devoured the most.

And this is why, when I begin to encourage you about the tithe, see, it’s never about the money. It’s about the curse. "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, and see if I will not open up the windows..."
