Radar gets the treat from the Pet Tutor. an example of a set up you could use when you don't have a human helper handling the other dog. </video> <video> Look at That Game in Real Life with Joggers Description: teenage Sage playing LAT instead of barking and lunging at the Joggers :-)now as an adult he just walks and ignores them </video> <video> Bella yawns on cue Description: Teaching a cued yawn has been super helpful to help my quarter pony Bella soften and relax. it's her favorite thing and she offers it to people. A lot. This can be used as a horsie alternative to Take a Breath. It's edited to remove the information about the new LAT-inspired game, LATTE, since that is material I'm just starting to present now at conferences. </video> <video> Puppy Recall Pattern Game Description: this is a come-and-go pattern where Baby sage gets a 'go' cue after his treat. teaching go away is an ironically great way to teach come here :-) head turn/baby version of Whiplash Turn is being clicked. mostly he is offering this behavior and a couple of times I use his name to practice with verbal cue. </video> <video> Using Give Me a Break Game so dog can 'ask' for performance cues Description: using GMAB pattern game with Ever so that she can tell me she is ready for me to add more pieces into her heeling behavior. first time outside the front of the house, she was scared of traffic when I adopted her so this is her after being desensitized to cars using the Look at That game. she is now able to notice a car and then turn back to me and continue the session. good example of how LAT gets incorporated by the dog into pattern games. </video> <video> CU kitties--recalls and default sit Description: Kanta sees I am teaching Harriet the Whiplash Turn and decides to demonstrate the best kitty default sit once he's committed he will stay there til the end of time. best stationing kitty. </video> <video> Give Me a Break game with agility obstacles Description: Certified Control Unleashed Instructor (CCUI) Linda Groff and Taji demonstrate how to play GMAB to help a dog focus off leash for agility. </video> <video> mat work; teaching Look at That cue on a mat! Description: step one of mat work not shown: teaching go to a mat and stay there step two, Helper at station=treats; Helper leaves=no more treats step three, Dog orienting to Helper and back to you=treats step four, attaching LAT cue to dog's orienting to Helper. </video> <video> Using Give Me a Break game to encourage toy play Description: CU Student using Give Me a Break game to build interest in tugging </video> <video> Superbowls Game for dogs that stare at other dogs Description: if you have a "sticky" herding dog that shows strong Eye/Stalk behavior towards other dogs Superbowls Pattern game can help because it helps dogs stay in an operant, not instinctive, state. demo of using it for this purpose in a group Control Unleashed class. </video> <video> Chair Game Intro Description: teaching Ever the pattern of the Chair Game. she can use the behavior of looking at me to make me take her back to the chair where treats happen. this is a back and forth pattern game that helps with attention, passing by or working near distracting things, and is also part of my counter conditioning work. </video> <video> Down for the Count game Description: teaching Sage to be still and quiet. increasing duration in between treats. Watch him give the Take a Breath behavior (from Dr Karen Overall's biofeedback training) before his treat. Goal is for him to not offer any behavior besides staying on mat and Take a Breath. Working on timing so he doesn't continue to offer a chin rest. </video> <video> steps for Voluntary Sharing Description: Steps for VS: dog startbutton behavior=treat in bowl; then sb=treat in second bowl, then treat in dog's bowl; then sb=treat in second bowl closer to other animal then treat in dog's bowl, etc, then fade the bowls if you want. Watch for how Ever's startbutton evolves from head dip, bowl target to full on chin rest on ground. make sure you have all necessary management in place to keep everyone safe. </video> <video> GMAB: Handler Goes to Chair Description: </video>
