While I did make a set engines in 2012, I've gotten better at my technique since then and wanted to do a clean sheet design with better controls for the thrust reversers, smoother cowling skin, and more realistic fanblades, among other improvements. Very happy with how this first (or third?) engine turned out. I'm planning to make a timelapse of the second (starboard) engine build, so look out for that sometime next year. Description: At long last, after having started the designs in 2017 and taking a multi-year break before picking them up again last year, I've built a (successful) test piece for the double-slotted inboard flaps. Safe to say they're working as intended! Probably one of the more challenging parts of the wing as there's all kinds of complicated shapes and mechanics at play, but that's thankfully all behind me. Here's a peek at all the work that goes into building each GE90-115B out of manila file folders (the design process was not included in this video). Over 70 hours of footage was captured and trimmed down to create this timelapse. Some parts of the process were omitted for the sake of time, but I will try to upload a separate extended cut to show the full construction process at a slower speed. Enjoy!
