This is the Tamiya plastic kit enhanced with resin 3D decals from Red Fox Studio and a spare decal set from Microscale Decals. The aircraft represented in this video is 603 44-20978 “Torrid Tessie” from the 346th Fighter Squadron, 350th Fighter Group, based in Corsica in 1944. I've built the aircraft with external drop-tanks as often used by P-47s on bomber escort duties, acting as the famous "little friends". I'm using this as some nice scenery for my Scalextric / slot car track, but it would work just as well for a military diorama or similar. Learn how I created the groundwork, hillside, rock face, trees, bushes, and waterfall using a variety of household and modelling materials. The main terrain piece itself is created using kitchen paper and PVA glue, with only a few specialist modelling materials used in the overall project. This is an old kit, from 1976, which I have upgraded with 3D printed tracks, 3D printed fuel tanks, a metal tow cable, and an attempt to create an armour texture. This particular camouflage scheme features an overall white scheme with the unusual addition of trees painted onto the sides. It was used by the 1434th Self propelled artillery Regiment of the Red Army on the Leningrad front in December 1943. The Buntfarbenanstrich three colour camouflage scheme was used between World War One and 1937, before the introduction of the dunkelgrau (dark grey) scheme. The Panzer I was designed as a training vehicle, but saw action in the Spanish Civil War, in the invasions of Poland and France, in North Africa, and in the Second Sino-Japanese war.
