Is the latest Puzzlevision episode, SMG4 INSIDE OUT, a stand alone episode or the start of something big? Video Transccript: Hey all, No Null here. So once again something unexpected happened this year regarding the direction they’ve taken with mr puzzles’ character. Only three episodes since the meme factory mini arc that featured mr puzzles’ last major plot, he has suddenly returned with a new episode of puzzlevision, SMG4 inside out. Is this marking the return of mr puzzles for his next evil plan and a new arc, which could potentially lead into war of the fat italians 2024, or is this just a stand alone episode of puzzlevision with no major story significance going forward? Personally, I think this was just a stand alone puzzlevision episode. For starters, except for possibly the ending scene, there were no loose plot points left unresolved, no cliff hangers and no major hints towards anything greater going on. We also see a special intro play rather than the usual smg4 intro animation, which I imagine will be the intro animation they play before any future puzzlevision episodes. That new intro definitely gives off vibes that this episode is not significant in any way. Moreover, the simple fact that this episode only released 3 weeks after the last major story arc makes me highly doubt that this episode is the beginning of a new story arc. The only part of this episode that raises eyebrows is the ending. We see Meggy suddenly transformed back from her leggy form by mr puzzles. Upon seeing mr puzzles, she recognises him and it appears like she gains awareness that she is in a TV show and begins questioning everything as the show’s production team comes out and filming is wrapped up as the puzzlevision show ends abruptly. This could suggest that meggy has once again been sucked into mr puzzles TV head so that she could play the protagonist role in this puzzlevision episode, and possibly only meggy was sucked in since we don’t see the other characters react to the production wrapping up at all and we know mr puzzles can create false versions of characters. Meggy also appears strangely suspicious for a brief period when she notices mr puzzles on the juice box that smg4 is about to drink from, while the other characters react as you'd expect considering the roles they are playing in the show. Personally, even if this theory about meggy is correct, and it does seem to be, I still think that this was a standalone episode and that the ending will have no story significance in next week’s episode. The ending being the way it is is likely just because it is a puzzlevision episode after all, and they wanted to briefly highlight how the events of the episode were orchestrated by mr puzzles as one of his shows and did not happen in the real world. However, suppose this was the start of an arc, perhaps mr puzzles misses the companionship he felt with leggy, and so specifically kidnapped meggy and is brainwashing her within his TV head so that she is forced to stay with him and hang out with him by being an unwilling participant in his puzzlevision shows. This may also explain why mr puzzles transforms meggy into leggy at one point in the episode. But i think the premise of this episode, and future stand alone puzzlevision episodes, is that mr puzzles kidnaps certain members of the smg4 crew and forces them to act in one of his shows and then supposedly lets them go. Or perhaps stand alone puzzlevision episodes like this one are non canon to the smg4 series like the remastered 64 videos. Either way, if this is the start of an arc or a stand alone episode, i don’t really think this was the best way for mr puzzles to first reappear following the meme factory mini arc. They should have built up to his return, as his next plan sounds like it will be more threatening since he seemed very enraged and thirsty for revenge at the end of the mini arc. What I would have done is, after his next defeat, is have mr puzzles be pacified somewhat, with him taking a step back from being a major antagonist in story arcs and taking on a less major role as a classic smg3 type antagonist who also is more focused on creating puzzlevision episodes. That's when i would have started releasing these stand alone puzzlevision episodes, as there would not be a great anticipation for mr puzzles’ return among fans, as smg4 inside out is a bit of a confusing way to bring him back immediately following the events of the meme factory mini arc. Also, as a minor nitpick, why is the smg4 logo used in the thumbnail despite this very clearly being a puzzlevision episode and not an smg4 series episode. Despicable mr puzzles used the puzzlevision logo, despite still using the smg4 intro at the beginning. Video Transcript: Hey all, No Null here. So I was indeed wrong, A Night At SMG4’s was in fact the finale of the meme factory mini arc. It seems the meme games truly will never return for a new instalment, especially for a 2024 instalment considering that this was likely the big SMG4 video for the summer, meaning the next big video of the year will likely be wotfi 2024. So despite the hint from Mario at the end of the meme games 2022 that the series would return, it probably seems best from now on to end speculation about the meme games returning during future arcs. But let’s actually discuss A Night At SMG4’s. It was a very entertaining episode, and you can never go wrong with Mr Puzzles, although I have to admit that the ending felt once again underwhelming, similarly to the Puzzlevision movie. This is mostly due to Mr Puzzles’ control over the comedy zone being way too brief and that Mario is able to resolve the entire conflict with Mr Puzzles and Leggy too quickly, even if the way he does it is admittedly very funny. This is why I wish my theory that this video would lead into the meme games 2024 next week was correct, as it could have allowed for a slightly more climatic and less rushed ending, as well as allowing us to see more of Mr Puzzles’ plan for the comedy zone. I did think it was pretty interesting how the ratings returned briefly, so I wish that concept was explored more, as there are still some lingering mysteries about the ratings, such as why they granted Mr Puzzles power. These mysteries left over from the Puzzlevision movie could have been explored here in this episode. Those are my thoughts on the episode, but as for any hints as to what may happen in Mr Puzzles’ next scheme, there was one scene in particular to focus on. At the end of the episode, Meggy remembers her time as Leggy and her bond she developed with Mr Puzzles that eventually grew into a friendship by the end, and she looks back on those memories fondly. Perhaps this suggests Meggy has a soft spot for Mr Puzzles now, and furthermore, maybe she could be instrumental in a possible Mr Puzzles redemption in a future arc? Though I still sort of doubt Mr Puzzles will ever be redeemed, because to reiterate, that would feel too similar to SMG3’s character arc. Moving on, the ending gave no real indication as to what Mr Puzzles’ next plot may involve, although his anger at the end could suggest that it may be more revolved around getting revenge on the SMG4 crew rather than gaining the fame and successful show he greatly desires. Moreover, since we’ve just had this year’s big video of the summer, it seems likely that Mr Puzzles’ next plot and arc will likely be concluded in wotfi 2024, as wotfi is always the next big video following a big video that releases in the summer. Anyways, what did you guys think of this mini arc, as the reception has seemed rather mixed. The ending was underwhelming for sure, but Mr Puzzles and the mini arc as a whole were very entertaining in my opinion, and the relationship between Mr Puzzles and Leggy was sweet. The main issue I had was that the merch line for this mini arc had no new Mr Puzzles merch. We all remember zero’s backstory, don’t we? Zero was once two different super meme guardians, niles and smg0, who lived peacefully with their avatar. However, Niles, a being created by the mysterious God Box, seemed to have been somewhat corrupt and as a result he felt imperfect. Therefore, He sought to use the power of the God Box to perfect himself and his universe, but this desire horribly backfired, and resulted in the death of his avatar, and subsequently, his universe. As a last resort, he forcefully merges himself with smg0 into an eldritch monster fuelled by the God Box’s power. In this new, all powerful form, zero sought to seek out a different avatar and universe that he could steal the meme energy from to use to recreate his old universe. This is basically all common knowledge in the smg4 theory community. But what if I told you that zero’s backstory was once likely very different to what we saw in the revelations movie. What we saw in revelations was never the original idea for zero’s past, as during the development of the Genesis arc, a rather different interpretation of his backstory was being hinted towards the entire time, with clues for this dropped backstory remaining as forgotten and overlooked leftovers as to what could have been. If you rewatch the Genesis and Revelations arc back to back, it will become rather clear that the writers almost certainly had not planned out what would happen after the genesis arc while writing it, and that almost the entirety of the revelations arc was probably written after the genesis arc had wrapped up. This is obvious from there being no references to the god box or the fact that zero is comprised of two different individuals during the genesis arc. This is also evident from smg1 and 2’s goodbye scene from the end of wotfi 2021 being completely undermined by them returning merely 3 months later out of the blue and for no special occasion. It almost feels as if where they ended up hiding and protecting the guardian pods was supposed to be a far more significant plot point in the sequel arc to the genesis arc. Perhaps it would have required smg4 and the gang to search for smg1 and 2 for a little while, and that as a result we wouldn’t have seen them again until nearer to the conclusion of the revelations arc and into the following year. Oops i went onto a little side tangent there. Basically, what this proves is that they clearly had not really planned what would happen after the genesis arc to continue the cosmology saga. And because they had not yet properly figured out what zero’s backstory would entail, this resulted in some forgotten clues being sprinkled throughout the genesis arc that hint at a rather different backstory for zero, that contradict or do not align with what would later be revealed in the revelations movie. Our first clue that we ever got hinting at what zero’s motivation may be was first found in the 10 year anniversary movie with an often overlooked and forgotten room that can be briefly seen inside zero’s cathedral. In one of the rooms with the zombie mario recolours, a bunch of red text can be seen drawn on the walls, which repeat two different statements - must live and need life. These words are almost certainly related to Zero, as this text was placed on the walls with a specific add on in g mod, and was probably not in the map by default. As this text is in zero’s cathedral, and the mario recolours are all dead, it is safe to assume that somehow zero manifested these words here. Further evidence pointing to these words being related to zero’s motivation specifically is the fact that later in the genesis arc, zero says something similar to these words, when near to being removed from axol’s body, he proclaims that he just wants to live. So what can we gather from all of this? In the revelations arc, niles’ motivation is primarily that he wants to create a perfect universe, he is obsessed with perfection. But here, there’s no sign of zero desiring perfection. Instead, he merely desires to live and have life. We know that it was niles’ fault that his universe got destroyed and that he purposely merged himself with zero into their eldritch form, but without that context, from the little glimpse we see of zero’s backstory, where we can just see that his avatar and universe were likely destroyed, and that some mysterious force transformed him into an eldritch being, from this we could assume that zero’s backstory was far more tragic. </video> <video> Sonic Movie 3 Post Credits Scene Speculation Description: A theory video about which new character may be introduced in the after credits scenes in sonic movie 3, which will give an insight into what sonic movie 4 will be all about. </video> <video> Where is PUZZLEVISION: AFTERSHOW Episode 2? Description: Video Transcript: Hey all, so its been a few months since the last part of puzzlevision after show released, and so I’m sure you’re wondering where episode 2 is. I had gotten some decent work on the intro done for it, but after Marty returned in the we must kill mario episode as an antagonist, I paused work on it and began to wait and see what else would unfold in the SMG4 series. I wanted to keep after show in a state where it could be inserted into the main SMG4 canon without causing any difficulties, but the return of marty and the recent defeat of mr puzzles both conflict with the script I wrote for episode 2. Not only that, but my interest in SMG4 is just not what it used to be. So the status of puzzlevision after show is that the series is currently on hold, until I am more invested in SMG4 again and reworked the script to better fit with current smg4 canon. Since it will probably be a while until episode 2 gets made, if I do in fact decide to make it, I might as well share the work that I made for the intro of episode 2 here. But this doesn’t mean I am giving up on making Gmod animations on this channel, as I’m currently working on a little idea I’ve had for a while. </video> <video> Will Marty and Mr. Puzzles team up? - SMG4 Theory Description: In the latest SMG4 episode, We Must Kill Mario, Marty suddenly returns and is an antagonist once again, seeking revenge against Mario, similar to what Mr Puzzles desires following the events of A Night At SMG4's... Could this be the beginning of the wotfi 2024 arc, which could see Marty and Mr Puzzles teaming up? Video Transcript: Hey all, No Null here. So after another underwhelming and confusing return of mr puzzles in a stand alone, non canon episode of puzzlevision, something very interesting and neat has finally happened in the smg4 series. We’ve had the sudden return of Marty after almost a year since his last proper appearance in wotfi 2023, where he served as the main antagonist. And not just that, but he returned as an antagonist once again who is set to return by the looks of things, and we even got an annoying lore inconsistency/loose plot point from last year resolved as a cherry on top. So firstly, in a nice flashback to after the events of wotfi 2023, we see how mario escaped from prison, explaining how he was present for the super smg4 wonder episode that released right after wotfi 2023, while also explaining why marty disappeared from the series for a while, as he remained in prison. However, we do know that he had escaped prison quite a while ago, as we saw that he had a new aeroplane business in the plane trip episode that was released shortly before the meme factory mini arc began. We also see that he was able to start this weird spaghetti cult, so he has been very busy building up resources since he escaped prison. In fact. He’s become an outright villain since escaping prison, being described as a fucking terrorist by Karen’s boss LMAO. In wotfi 2023, marty’s motivation was simply that he was an ambitious businessman, and he wanted to steal smg3’s pizza recipe in hopes of generating more profit from his pizza stand. But interestingly, his motivation has now changed rather drastically, as he is now outright evil and is seeking revenge against mario for abandoning him, as well as desiring to put everyone else through the pain he felt from being abandoned by his best friend. In today’s episode, he sought revenge through poisoning a ton of people, including karen’s children, using mario’s beloved spaghetti as a way to get back at mario, since we all know mario loves spaghetti, enough so to abandon marty in prison. But ultimately he was defeated, and we were left with a cliffhanger ending as marty escaped and swore to return. So what does Marty's return mean, and what may it lead to? Well it's clear that something major will probably be happening with marty, as they went through the effort of re-establishing his character, such as by recapping the events of wotfi 2023. They even gave him a voice using a speech device reminiscent of Stephen Hawking’s speech device lol. Since we’re in the latter half of the year now, it’s very likely that this new plot thread involving marty will conclude with wotfi 2024. But this is the interesting part. Mr Puzzles’ plot thread is also still unresolved, and as i’ve previously theorised, I believe this will also be concluded with wotfi 2024. In this previous video of mine, I suggested that mr puzzles will be motivated primarily by a desire for revenge against mario and the smg4 cast in his next plot. And guess who else now also seeks revenge against mario and the smg4 cast? And remember what else I said in that previous video? I came up with an idea where mr puzzles gathers up a group of other previously defeated smg4 villains and minor antagonists to work with him in a future wotfi 2024 arc, and i specifically mentioned including marty in this group. Could I have actually predicted the premise of the wotfi 2024 arc? I guess we’ll have to wait and see if any other antagonists return in future episodes, such as lawyer kong, wheeler, depresso and ztar. Either way, it seems likely that marty and mr puzzles will be working together for wotfi 2024, though this time they’d likely be partners on equal footing, rather than marty being a puppet of mr puzzles’ plan like in wotfi 2023. I’d like to conclude this video by discussing how much I really appreciate today’s episode. It is by far one of my favourite episodes released this year. It is an episode focused on a more minor character, we get some nice character interactions that aren’t all too common, we get to see more screen time for lesser used side characters, and it expanded on previously unresolved plot threads and questions as well as establishing some new lore about karen. This was just a really good episode and it has kind of rescued my interest and confidence in the series, which has admittedly been waning since the meme factory arc. I hope they keep up what they did with this episode. Perhaps they could bring back Lui, since they did go through the trouble of solving a year old lore question that I was sure would never be resolved. Anyway, bye. </video> <video> SMG4 WOTFI 2024 is BAD Description: SMG4's War of the Fat Italians 2024 was a massive let down, though I didn't have very high hopes for it. Mr Puzzles was an entertaining character introduced this year with wasted potential. Video Transcript: Hey all, No Null here. You’ve probably noticed that I didn’t make any proper theory videos while the mr puzzles wotfi arc was releasing, with the only video I released during the arc being a segment of the podcast I have with megario and machroma, where we talked about some of our wotfi 2024 theories. Why was this? Well, the main reason I never really uploaded during the wotfi arc is because I just wasn’t interested in it. I was curious about where it would go, and it is an enjoyable watch, but it was just not the direction I thought they should take with mr puzzles, nor was it a particularly good direction. Mr Puzzles did experience character growth in the wotfi arc, which built upon his growth from the meme factory arc where he befriended leggy, and resulted on him finally moving on from his obsession for fame and entertainment. This would be a good arc, but how this arc progressed was strange. At the end of wotfi, Mr Puzzles’ inner child is able to finally turn of the TV he always used to watch due to him gaining his first friend, leggy, but the issue is, mr puzzles already befriended leggy in the meme factory arc, so this is just repeating what was already done before. Moreover, the whole theme park setting is just odd. It turns out that Mr Puzzles had a forgotten childhood dream of running an amusement park that was shut down by his dad. I like that they tried to expand on mr puzzles’ backstory, but they should have leaned into it much more, specifically focusing on his relationship with his father. The whole amusement park childhood dream thing just comes out of nowhere and just exists to justify the amusement park setting for wotfi. Wotfi 2024 itself was incredibly underwhelming and weak, especially compared to wotfi 2023, which tried something different whereas this wotfi returned to the traditional arc wotfi format seen in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Wotfi 2023 felt like a movie more than a wotfi, with an actually coherent storyline, which was something i’d hope they would have kept for 2024. The way that leggy is transformed back into meggy was also really underwhelming, the rest of the cast was underused and added nothing to the story, and the story beats during the rap battle and the sequence in mr puzzles’ mind was too similar to wotfi 2021. There was also no interesting lore in this arc, despite the fact that the control room and that star core thing that powered the amusement park could’ve definitely been expanded upon. I was also disappointed that Marty’s return in the we must kill mario episode led to nothing and was unrelated to the wotfi arc entirely, although at least marty is now a recurring villain, as seen in the latest episode. Overall, this was by far the weakest mr puzzles arc this year. The Puzzlevision arc had great build up and had potential for a good theme, but it fumbled hard with the movie and was one of the greatest let downs as the ending for a year long saga. The meme factory arc was too short and rushed, but actually had some emotion too it and could’ve served as a good starting place for the wotfi arc. But the wotfi arc once again proved to be a disappointing mr puzzles arc with wasted potential and no substance whatsoever. The faith that I had regained in the writers following the we must kill mario episode was once again shattered by the wotfi arc, and I seriously have no real enthusiasm for the smg4 series anymore as quite frankly I have no faith that they can write anything on par with the cosmology saga or the 2023 movies, and there are other issues with the series, such as the abysmal character appearance balancing. If I was in charge of the wotfi arc, the we must kill mario episode, which I really loved, should have been the start of the arc. Karen should have been a main character and there should have been focus on her backstory. Perhaps the father of her children could’ve been introduced as an antagonist who kidnaps her kids or something, and karen has to work with the smg4 cast to save them. This would’ve been a more natural way to bring her into the main smg4 cast, instead of just having her be apart of it one day, as is what happens in the puzzle park episode. We could’ve had marty and mr puzzles, and maybe even lawyer kong, team up with karen’s ex, and the theme of the arc could’ve been about the fruitlessness of revenge, as both mr puzzles and marty seemed hellbent on revenge in their most recent appearances before the wotfi arc. Mr puzzles could learn the same lesson he did in wotfi 2024, but this time it is due to meggy/leggy promising not to leave mr puzzles and remain his friend forever, unlike what happened in the meme factory. This way, we are not repeating mr puzzles’ development from the meme factory arc. </video> <video> Sonic Movie 3 Keeps Spoiling Everything! As you may have been able to tell, I’m sort of a big fan of mr puzzles. So I was glad when he was brought back after the puzzlevision movie, and when we got a mini arc centred around him with the meme factory episodes, even if admittedly the endings for both the puzzlevision saga and meme factory mini arc were pretty underwhelming due to some questionable writing. Following mr puzzles’ defeat in the meme factory mini arc, we know that he’ll be back for some revenge, likely in time for wotfi 2024, since that will probably be the next big event in the SMG4 series, and so far this has pretty much been the year of mr puzzles. This video isn’t so much a theory video more than it is a wishlist of ideas i’d like to see the smg4 team do with mr puzzles’ character in future episodes or arcs. This first segment of the video revolves around my theory that mr puzzles will be the antagonist for wotfi 2024. I’m basically going to lay out a general overview of how i’d write a wotfi 2024 arc under the premise that mr puzzles is the antagonist and is seeking revenge in his next plot, revenge serving as his primary motivation, with his other desires, such as taking over SMG4’s show or gaining SMG4’s popularity, taking less priority this time round. Going with the revenge theme, what if Mr Puzzles gathers a bunch of previously defeated SMG4 villains who also seek to get revenge on the SMG4 cast? The idea of an arc where multiple past villains team up has been around for a long time, so it’d be cool to see this idea finally envisioned, and if there was any villain who would serve as a good leader for such a group, mr puzzles certainly fits the bill, especially as he is a master manipulator as demonstrated in 2023. The obvious candidates for who would join Mr Puzzles firstly includes Marty, last year's wotfi antagonist, and secondly includes lawyer kong, who I don’t think anyone would care about suddenly becoming a villain again, as well as including a bunch of more minor villains classic and modern like Ztar, mr nice guy, the remnants of the box club, wheeler, depresso, X, whisk from sunset paradise, and i guess we can include that mexican master hand as well lmao. Perhaps Mr Puzzles could even recruit a reluctant SMG3, who could actually be secretly working against mr puzzles in an admittedly not so surprising twist, but having smg3, as well as marty, on mr puzzles’ side would justify the last episode of this arc being called war of the fat italians. The premise for the plot of this wotfi 2024 arc would be pretty simple, Mr Puzzles manipulates all of these past villains to join him in a bid to finally get revenge on the SMG4 cast. Perhaps in the lead up to the wotfi arc, we can have individual episodes where each of these villains return. I’m err, not really that creative, so i dunno what would happen next, though since the ratings briefly returned in the meme factory mini arc, perhaps they could return in this wotfi arc as well, and maybe we can finally get a proper explanation of why having the highest ratings in the smg4 universe can grant someone full creative control over the entire universe. The wotfi itself could once again be held in the format of 1v1 challenges, since we had a different format last year, and once again this would be a team wotfi, with the smg4 cast pitted against Mr Puzzles’ evil cast. And unlike in wotfi 2022 where the main antagonist didn’t participate in the challenges, this time mr puzzles as well as lawyer kong would also be competing in the challenges. And then finally, of course, we would have the rap battle at the end, mr puzzles featuring heavily in it. This idea of mine could use some further development, as it has some issues, such as the wotfi idea not differentiating itself from the past arc wotfis like 2021 and 2022, unlike how wotfi 2023 differentiated itself from the recent trend to avoid being stale. There’s also the issue of this wotfi perhaps being reminiscent of the You tube arc and SMG3’s anti-cast. The last thing I want to mention on this wotfi point is that I think this next arc would have to develop on the bond that mr puzzles and meggy/leggy developed in the mini arc. Meggy may have a soft spot for mr puzzles now, so perhaps she could be instrumental in reasoning with him if his next plan goes way overboard in some way, or perhaps she could even play a role in redeeming him. So in many of my theory videos since the release of the Puzzlevision movie, I've expressed disappointment at how the movie, and the puzzlevision saga as a whole, concluded. Today I think it's well overdue that I discuss my thoughts on the puzzlevision movie and saga as a whole. Firstly, let me make it clear. On the whole, the puzzlevision saga is one of the best smg4 story lines in the series, easily being up there with the cosmology saga, and definitely being a huge step up from the previous storyline, that being the lawsuit arc. However, I personally feel that the puzzlevision saga falls behind the cosmology saga in quality due to a simple reason. The ending of the saga was underwhelming as it failed to deliver on the year-long build up and hype generated from the three movies in 2023. Firstly, from a lore perspective, there was little revealed and what we did get was underwhelming. I’m sort of a lore guy, and so one of the things i loved about the cosmology saga was the wealth of interesting lore concepts it introduced, such as the meme guardians, the great beyond, the guardian pods, the avatars, the different universes based on different games, etc. Comparatively, what was introduced in the puzzlevision movie? Mr puzzles is cool and entertaining, but we never get an explanation for any of his TV head powers. The lore behind his character is also rather weak, especially compared to zero. We only get his backstory in a very brief verse of the creative control song and it is nothing that special, he was just lonely as a child and became engrossed in television. As a result, He became obsessed with creating his own show, and due to his deep dedication to this goal he ended up cutting off his head and replacing it with a TV. This could be a good basis for an interesting backstory, but due to it not being developed any further it fails to be very gripping. That's why when creating puzzlevision after show, I didn’t just try to explain where he got his tv powers from, but also tried to give a more deep and emotional weighting to his motivations by expanding upon what drived him to create the best show ever. I know some people are fine with his backstory as is and with him being a more two dimensional car too ny villain, and as i said previously it isn’t a bad backstory, but i definitely expected it to be much more developed as mr puzzles was a hyped up over-arching antagonist for over a year. This feeling of disappointment at how lacking mr puzzles’ backstory and lore were was not helped by what at the time seemed to be hints towards mr puzzles having a meta element to him, like how the cosmology lore was met a and linked to the real world. It seemed like mr puzzles was speaking directly towards us, the viewers, at the end of wotfi 2023, and when the puzzlevision arc began, it seemed as if mr puzzles had taken over the smg4 channel, as the episodes no longer had the smg4 title, the puzzlevision logo replaced the smg4 logo on the thumbnails, and every community post was seemingly written as if mr puzzles was making them. This led people to theorise that mr puzzles had some crazy meta explanation behind his powers, which could explain how he made something like the demon keyboard and how he was able to mind control the smg4 cast. But then it turned out that there was no deep meta explanation behind mr puzzles, the audience he was speaking to was an audience in the smg4 universe, not in real life, and he had not taken over the smg4 channel, he was just broadcasting his own tv show. Moreover, let’s not forget how they were seemingly setting up clench to be important to this arc following his role in the no tv episode, yet this ended up amounting to absolutely nothing, and it is still unclear what the purpose of introducing clench’s character even was. Lastly, we had the concept of the ratings which grant creative control over the universe once someone’s show achieves 5 stars. This is interesting, but again, it was not developed any deeper at all. Why does achieving the highest ratings in the universe grant someone creative control? This was never answered. The lore introduced in the puzzlevision movie honestly feels very confused and poorly thought through to be honest. The most egregious example is how mr puzzles’ TV head can suck charactera into it. This is an incredibly interesting idea, and during the puzzlevision arc, it seemed that mr puzzles had pulled everyone within the smg4 universe, or at least in the main cast, into his head, due to characters that were not in the basement being present in the TV world. </video>
