Description: A LEGO technic bomb squad robot built with 6 SBrick's, 19 motors, a laser, light's and an electromagnet. I've actually seen an EOD robot defuse an IED and the live saving job they do in army's and police forces around the world has always fascinated me, so I decided to build one! I love complex robotics, but to build something like this proved to be a challenge! I really wanted to use the 2 interlocking geared rings as a basis for the 2 main arms, but that scaled up the size of this MOC drastically. To be able to power every lego power functions motor and sbrick I ended up using 5 lego PF battery boxes! This MOC is based on Harley Quinn Spinsanity ride at Six Flags Over Texas and the "tourbillon" fair ride but I gave it my own spin! It got WAY bigger than I originally intended, but that's what you get when you go with technic figure scale I guess :p LBH 90x59x47 CM and weighs 7.2KG LBH 54x24x19 INCH and weighs 15.8 pounds I ended up using 9 motors to power just the spinning parts of this attraction because it's so insanely big, and gearing it down would make it to slow to be fun. I enden up using 5 power functions battery boxes because it's quite power hungry, 4 of them also serve as counterweights to keep it stable. In total I used: 14 motors: 5X PF-XLmotors 6x PF-L motor 1x PF-M motor 1x PF-servo motor 1x 9v micro motor 4x PF-lights 5x sbrick 5x PF battery boxes I even had my gopro go along for the ride for a POV shot!, don't get sick! This MOC has been in my head for quite a while, because I just love destroying things. So naturally, a LEGO technic super wrecking crane had to be build! LEGO technic doesn't have many heavy parts so I used studded style lego weight blocks to make the wrecking ball. It actually has quite some mass now, and it does a decent job at demolition work. Besides the crane/wrecking ball it features a bulldozer scoop, a jackhammer and a crushing jaw! All in al I'm quite pleased with this build, I wasn't sure at first since there's a lot of crane's out there and I wondered weather I could make this unique enough for my taste. 2019 might bring us new lego pf parts, but for now this will still quite well for an AFOL like me! I don't really do regular...😅 Instead I came up with this fully remote controlled unusual transforming machine. I wanted it to have a MASSIVELY powerful looking main gun, so I made a rubber band powered recoil system that really slams back the howitzer canon. Once that was sort of working I build a tank around that, engineered to deal with the massive recoil, hence the unusually complex folding mechanism. I really wanted it to be a jack of all trades so I also added an anti-air gun with alternating barrel recoil system and retractable gatling guns on either side. Naturally everything needed to be fully remote controlled, so I ended up using 18 power functions motors and 5 sbrick s to power and control it all. I get around that by making all changes in direction mechanical, and that's why I call it a rollercoaster-ISH contraption. It's not a traditional rollercoaster but given the looks and motions I'd say it comes pretty close. I used 5 SBricks to control everything, and there's a total of 17 motors in this MOC to make all the mechanical transitions. This thing is truly a giant, I completely ran out of black pins and liftarms longer than 5 studs! 113 x 63 x 67 cm 45 x 25 x 27 inch My 2019 mocs are quite few in numbers, mostly due to moving, but this beast ate up A LOT of my time! I had to make small adjustments to let my gopro go on this ride because it's way heavier, that alone took 2 days... (relative of cours). It got me thinking though, because you see a lot of pictures and video's of people with wall-to-wall LEGO collections sorted and organized in dedicated LEGO rooms, and I'm doing the complete opposite and still making very acceptable MOC's. So I thought I'd share with you guys my alternative way of organizing my LEGO collection. this might not be the best way of sorting LEGO technic, and will definitely not work for everyone, but I hope some of you will get some ideas to sort, organize and store your LEGO collection. Sorting like this does take a certain amount of time after dissembling a MOC, but I truly belive I win that time back because I never have to search for LEGO pieces. I don't know if I actually have OCD but this OCD slyle of sorting works just VERY satisfying for me and it's the most compact solution I could come up with. Follow me on twitter to see my current WIP's: https://twitter.com/shadow_elenter After winning a large LEGO set in the eurobricks battle bot contest last year I decided that I now finally had enough LEGO to try building a rollercoaster, so I did! I always try, but it's quite hard to be original since there's so many creative (AFOL)builders out there. But when I did some research and I found that no one had ever build a true rollercoaster scaled to accommodate technic figures I knew I found my challenge! The main challenges of building one was the fact that there's no tracks made by LEGO to work on this scale. I experimented with making tracks with various parts, but making curves never really worked like I wanted it to, and even a small radius turn took way to many parts. And then it hit me... I don't NEED curved tracks! all I need is ways to make the cart change direction! After that realization my brain exploded with fun and creative ways to do just that. Not only does it take less parts because you can stay very compact, it's technically way more complex, interesting(to build), and more fun to watch. The gopro ride was just to finish it all off, because who doesn't like to ride a rollercoaster ! This was my biggest MOC ever, and it took me extra long because I Had a "dark age" in the middel of the build, but in the end I'm extremely happy with the end result. This thing is HUGE! As usual I wanted to go technic figure scale, but I literally ran out of black pins and lift arms longer that 7L! I used 14 power functions motors to power everything and 4 SBricks to control it all. Everything is automated with SBrick sequences to make the cart go round and to stop all contraptions JUST in time. I didn't make a complete build plan because that would take forever, but I can imagine someone that has more lego than me could make an EPIC haunted mansion ride for mini-figs with this track system. With that in mind I made a 3D file of the most basic loop that can be expanded by lengthening the conveyor belt and mirroring the entry side of a given segment to make either a left or right turn, the rest is up to the builder. I'd like to tell you guys how using a dental tool can make building with LEGO technic easier. By sheer coincidence there was a dental pick with in reach, and using that I got the axle out in 2 seconds. After that it sort of remained on my LEGO table and I noticed I started using it more and more. Now, I use it quite often for several tasks, and I thought some of you might benefit from these tip 's and techniques, so I made this LEGO how to video. This channel is the home of my LEGO technic creations, most MOC's (my own creation) I build get taken apart shortly after filming so this is my LEGO technic shelve.
