This patient is a 39 year-old male with a large tumor in his left mandible called an Ameloblastoma. In Part 1 of this video series I biopsied this lesion, and in Part 2 I reviewed the diagnosis and Virtual Surgical Planning. This video is Part 3, the complete surgery. This patient underwent the removal of a large portion of his mandible. The defect was enormous, and we repaired it with a free fibula flap. This involved harvesting the leg bone and securing it to his mandible. We also hooked up an artery and vein from his leg to his neck so the fibula had an immediate blood supply. This was a multi-team case and very technically challenging!
