Landing in Funchal Madeira (LPMA / FNC) is no small task. It is probably one of the most difficult airports to land at with an airliner. This landing was my first time experiencing the approach from the first officer seat. Approach and landing in Funchal has to be done by the captain since there is special training required to be allowed to land at Madeira Airport. The visual approach is flown manually and is quite demanding since you encounter strong winds coming over the island.
