As the Revolutionary War unfolded, the Confederacy was torn apart when some tribes joined the Patriots in hopes they’d be allowed to keep control of their lands while other tribes sided with the British, seeking to protect their lands from colonial expansion. When the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1783, recognizing the United States as an independent nation, there was no mention of rights for the more than 80 Indigenous nations existing along the eastern United States. </video> <video> How colonialism changed tribal warfare Description: We see a lot of comments talking about Native American tribes fighting one another.
