Physics Lamp is for improving the literacy of science and Technology in Pakistan. <video> Experiment to find Angle of Deviation and refractive index of Prism in Urdu/Hindi Description: We are going to perform the experiment to find the angle of deviation and refractive index of prism as the light pass through the prism. Prism has two triangles and three rectangles in his geometry. Triangle of the prism is equilateral so angle of prism ( base angle ) is 60 degrees. Angle of deviation is the angle at which the incident light bends from its path after emerging from the prism. Experiment to find angle of deviation and refractive index of prism. In this video i took angle of incidence is 45 degrees so after calculation we found the angle of deviation is 41 Degrees. if the light enter from denser to rare and rare to denser it bends from its path This property of light is called refraction. Prism works on the principle of refraction. Angle of deviation changes as we change the angle of incidence. Angle of deviation is minimum if the incidence angle and emergent angle of light ray is equal . This would happen when angle of incidence is 50 degrees. Refractive index can be calculated of a glass using prism with Snell's law. We calculated refractive index of glass and found 1.55 degrees. Refractive index has something to do with speed of light. Refractive index tell us that how much speed of light is reduced when light enter from air to that medium. Refractive index is the ratio of speed of light in air to the speed of light in a medium. Refractive index depends upon the color of light. More refractive index means more bending of light. Angle of deviation of prism. The current of current source is called Norton Current and resistance is called Norton's Resistance.The circuit is called Norton Equivalent circuit. To transform a complex circuit into Norton Equivalent circuit we have to calculate the Norton current and Norton resistance, and this is called Norton's Theorem Thevenin to Norton conversion. We can find the Norton Equivalent circuit with the help of Thevenin circuit. If we divide Thevenin voltage with Thevenin resistance we will get Norton's current, Thevenin's Resistance is equal to Norton's resistance. By using Norton's current and Norton resistance we can make Norton Equivalent Circuit. We can also find Norton current and Norton Resistance with the help of simple method. Norton Theorem i) To find the Norton's Resistance remove the load resistor and replace all the current or voltage sources with their internal resistance and then calculate the total resistance of the circuit through the terminals of removed load resistor. ii) To find the Norton's current short the load resistor and find the current through shorted wire. This current is called Norton's current. Norton's current can be calculated with the help of Superposition theorem, nodal analysis or some other method. Once you find the Norton's current and Norton's resistance connect them in parallel and connect the load resistance in parallel with Norton's resistance,and then find the current through load resistance.This is called Norton's Theorem. Tides occur due to the combined gravitational attraction of moon and sun on Surface of earth and earth center. Tidal forces causes tides in the ocean. There is gradient of moon gravitational pull across the earth and on the surface of the earth. The tidal force on the surface of the earth pushes the water toward the earth moon line and hence tides are produced twice a day, if we assume the earth is spherical and water is uniformly distributed over the surface of earth. But water is not uniformly distributed and there is a friction between earth crest and water so tides are lag behind the earth moon line. Sun also cause tides but sun is very far away from earth as compared to the moon so sun tides effect is only 0.46 of the moon. Sun tides are lower than moon tides because there is a very small gradient of gravitational attraction across the earth. When sun and moon are in line ( new moon and full moon) the sun and moon reinforce each other and tides are high then usual these tides are called spring tides. By Thevenin theorem any complex circuit can be replaced with a simple circuit of two components i) Voltage source ii) Resistance. The voltage across voltage source is called Thevenin Voltage and resistance of the resistor is called Thevenin Resistance. In Thevenin theorem method we have to find the Thevenin voltage and Thevevnins Resistance THEVENIN THEOREM In order to find the Thevenin resistance all the source (voltage and current) have to be replaced with their internal resistance and load resistor has to be removed. Then we calculate total resistance of the circuit through two terminal of the removed load resistance. In order to find the Thevenins voltage only load resistor has to be removed and we find voltage across the load terminal due to all sources. Once we find the Thevenin's resistor and Thevenin's voltage then connect voltage source of Thevenins voltage in series with Thevevnin Resistance. This circuit is your thevenin's equivalent of given circuit, and this method is called Thevenin theorem. Connect load resistance with thevenin's equivalent circuit and find out the current through load resistance.
