Collin's girlfriends estranged husband, Scott Davis became the one and only suspect but the DA at the time decided there was not enough evidence to take the case to court. In 1996 a cold case squad took over the case and Davis was arrested, tried and convicted. His appeals have failed. Should Scott Davis have been convicted on zero physical evidence? Was there enough circumstantial evidence? As for the physical evidence, it seems that everyone handling it managed to lose it. In October of 2018, someone stabbed nurse Athena Ilone Valentiny to death and her dog vanished in Grover Beach, California. Her only living relative, her son Levente Lazlo Lazar lived 2000 miles away with his girlfriend in Bloomington, Illinois. He was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in prison. How did he get caught? Because he was really stupid. But,the lies and manipulations he used to try to get away with his crime and other things in his life are a great representation of how a psychopath thinks! And I want to introduce you to what goes on in their brain and why...especially when it comes to interviews and interrogations and taking the witness stand in a trial. On April 14, 1984, the body of a newborn baby boy was found on White Strand Beach at Caherciveen, County Kerry, Ireland with a broken neck and 28 stab wounds. In the Gardai search for the killer, they found a woman named Joanne Hayes who lived 80 kilometers away....a woman who had been pregnant but now had no baby to show for it. They arrested her and she confessed to the murder of the baby boy. However, she later retracted her confession and said that HER baby had died and was buried on her farm. This turned out to be true but the Gardai believed she was also the mother of the other dead baby on the beach! From here it gets very complicated and bizarre! The belief of the Gardai was that she had twins by two different men but then DNA proved that not to be true. Just last year in 2023 a couple was arrested who supposedly matched the DNA but they were quickly released, and nothing has come of the case of "Baby John," the infant on the beach. With obscenities and threats to her and her husband and the Massie and to many others, the town was in turmoil. It got so bad that Mary's husband went out with a gun saying he knew who the writer was and crashed into a tree on the way, killing himself (although some believe he was murdered). Then, Mary, while driving her bus, saw a sign on the side of the road with obscenities about her daughter. She got out and ripped the sign down but discovered it was attached to a box with a gun in it set to shoot her. The gun belonged to brother-in-law Paul Freshour. He was arrested and his wife, Karen Sue, said she saw letters in his house and that he indeed was the Circleville Letter Writer. Freshour spent the next ten years of his life in prison for attempted murder claiming he was innocent of the charge. In the long run, he was not proven to be the writer of the letters, dozens of which came WHILE he was incarcerated.
