It reminds me to slow down, & remember to be present, truly being in the only moment of time that exists. When fall begins I often feel overwhelmed & like I am running out of time with all of things that need to get done as a business owner for the busiest time of year… but this sweet, quiet in between month of August whispers out to me that everything will get done in it’s own time. There can only be so much we can do to prepare for the future, so I am reminded to take a moment to stop, breathe deep & be present in the moments I am experiencing now. All the colors begin to emerge in their variant vibrancies, from yellows, to rusts, to reds, to oranges & browns & deep greens. The rain comes round more and more frequently, delighting the earth with its refreshed drenching. The animals begin to shift, birds embracing their journeys to warmer places, squirrels foraging for stores to keep through the winter & making cozy nests in tree hollows for the colder weather to come. Mushrooms begin to sprinkle the forest floor & the magical dance of the leaves flittering through the wind is an unmatched magic. There is so much to love about the autumn season & embracing it with the perspective to romanticize each moment can make it even more special. What I mean when I say romanticize, is adding touches of whimsy to ordinary moments to make them feel more romantic & beautiful. Every one of our lives can feel special & full of beauty & sometimes that means shifting our perspective, by opening our minds to letting in magic to any moment before us can do just that. So today I wanted to share five ways in which I like to add a bit of whimsy to my everyday throughout the autumn season & enjoy it to the fullest. While I have been dreaming, planning & setting goals for this year I do want to always remind myself to take it slow & trust the timing of my own unique journey. There is this quote that I have pasted to my 2025 vision board that says - 'I can achieve my wildest creative dreams by going slow & resting often' - and I believe it wholeheartedly. I think it’s absolutely possible to achieve as well because otherwise it can lead to a life of burnout & I think it we can lose the child like magic and wonder one is capable of when pursuing life and dreams more slowly, purposefully and intentionally rather than with a rigid mindset or comparing our individual journeys to others. So this year I am focusing on finding the balance of pursuing my wildest creative dreams while also enjoying the present moment and being mindful to experience this little life, where my feet are currently planted. Description: Happy Friday, friends! As the days have grown darker & shorter, I’ve been struggling to find inspiration and motivation to film at the moment. I think a part of it has been dealing with some burn out after the early autumn season and the other part has honestly been the feeling like I have nothing worth sharing, nothing special or beautiful to give at the moment in my life with these dark, gloomy, cold, wet days becoming more and more frequent. But then it hit me. I was reminded of the very philosophy for which I even wanted to make videos in the first place, the very reason why I create & share the videos I do - to find beauty & magic in the ordinary & mundane moments. To find it in the daily routine, the everyday moments, no matter how repetitive or small or minor as they may seem. It is in these very moments that make life beautiful & full & whole. It isn’t these grand gestures, or major milestones or perfect days… it’s these seemingly unimportant moments - but in reality they are the most important of all. And so, I decided to film a simple day in my life. Sharing with you a glimpse into my days at the moment… and while they are all ordinary moments, in my mind as I experience & am present in each of them - I try to shift my perspective, romanticizing each minute, finding the beauty & magic of it all. I hope this can remind you too - that any moment in life can be made extraordinary, if only you stop & take a moment to find it.
