Should we see if we can do 3? Hey everyone! I painted this rock on Christmas day. I wanted to get away from the normal black base that I do and find something more cheerful that made me happy. If the quality is different or fuzzy on this video it is because I used my phone to record it rather than Mom's. I learned my lesson and will not be using my phone for this again. Just wanted to make a little preview of what the painting might look like if we did a black light live painting together! I wanted to get out my tutorial for Mother's Day early just in case anyone wanted to follow along as a gift for their Mom :) This is going to be our first Mother's Day without Mom and we are already feeling it. I chose to do a heart rock with shades of purple because the heart rock was her favorite and purple was her favorite color. I worked really hard on this rock, I wanted it to be perfect because it's a very important rock for me. I hope you guys enjoy it and have a great day! This tutorial is a Father's Day tribute to my awesome Dad! He was a good sport and posed for the thumbnail even! I tried to make a custom mauve-ish maroon-ish color for the base which is why I did not record that part. It took a long time and eventually I decided this purple shade was lovely! Dad's favorite colors are Mauve and Sea Blue and I tried to incorporate colors similar to those. I didn't get my paint delivery until after this video was made sadly. I used a mix of Apple Barrel and DecoArt paints. The Apple Barrel paints are a bit older but they held up well! I'm still not 100% sure what i'm doing, but i'm trying to follow Mom's lead with these tutorials. I know it's not as high quality as Mom was providing but I know i'll improve as I go! I upgraded my tools to the DIY Mandala Stone tools that Mom was using which come numbered, that means i'm able to use the same numbers Mom used for her tutorials. There is also a post on the channel that will help you figure out which tool is which number if you choose to use the Happy Dotting tools instead :) I also upgraded my editing tools for the videos, and i'm trying my hand at speeding up and slowing down parts of the video. That way the numbers and colors i'm showing can be seen easily, while the 12 identical dots are not so tedious. This is definitely trial and error, hopefully more successful than not though!
