Cheap and easy to build with minimal parts, this is a great little DIY project. It means we can use environmentally friendly, pedal generated electricity anywhere. Additional info: The voltmeter isn't always active in the circuit, because if it was, it would discharge the battery over time. Its activated by pressing together the two spade connectors arranged in a pair. This acts as a momentary switch. The volt/current meter is connected in parallel with the charge and discharge circuits the on the battery side of the diode, with the current sensor on the wire to the battery terminal. This way, it will measure the voltage of battery when nothing is connected; the battery voltage and load current when discharging; and the charging voltage and current drawn by the battery when charging. The diode is connected in series with the charging plug on the positive side. It is bypassed by the discharge circuit (12V socket). These resonators are used with a liquid sample in a vacuum tube. We use them for both continuous wave and pulsed EPR at frequencies between 30 and 110 MHz, but they can be built and used for higher and lower frequencies.
