It's super compact without being "crampy" It's extremely lightweight, without using alloys that corrode easily when abused in the salt. You can cast very light weights without sacrificing spool integrity, And it casts long ranges without sacrificing control, or the need to remove the sideplate. They failed worse than imaginable! Description: Please read: Visser turned a once happy customer (despite issues) into a pissed off customer that no longer trusts the brand. He contacted me via StripersOnline asking if I could talk, and take a look at the reel. What you see in the video, was exactly how the customer received the reel after being serviced by the manufacturer. The reel had not seen use since being serviced. Bear in mind, the customer sent Visser a note letting them know that he suspected saltwater intrusion. They acknowledged receipt of that information. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Below are a few of the relevant communications between the customer and Visser ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FIRST Communication sent from the Customer to Visser on Visser's website. Purchased the reel on 11/11/2020 from J&H tackle And I’m pretty sure one of the seals failed that protects the clutch and main gear. I’m seeing milky grease inside the housing and the main gear has rust on it. This shouldn’t happen to a 10 day old reel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ First reply from Visser to customer....(very prompt reply on a holiday by the owner of the company) Hello (redacted), your absolutely correct! We have to see why it failed so please send it to our service center. The address is: VISSER Reels LLC 591 North Main street Seymour Ct 06483 We will identify the issue and get will get the reel back to you quickly! Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NEXT IS A DIRECT REPLY TO THE OWNER OF VISSER There’s internal water damage I hope this weill be address as well. Thanks for the immediate response. Happy Thanksgiving This reel is a monster, i really do like it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THIS IS HOW VISSER DESCRIBES THE WORK THAT WAS PERFORMED (and what you see in the video is how it was received by the customer) "We replaced the spool shaft seal assembly and clutch housing nut and main seal on your reel and re greased the gear case. FYI the grease we initially lube the reels with is a bit milky in nature. There is a slight chance that the spool shaft seal may leak again in the future. We have experienced one other reel that may have took in a little water and have already redesigned the seal and upgraded the actual seal material. New seals are being manufactured as we speak. They will be available the end of December. Once they arrive I can send you a new seal with instructions on how to replace it." I was told when I inquired that Daiwa USA would service this originally JDM exclusive reel. This reel was sold at JandH tackle. After he couldn't get Daiwa to service the reel.
