Thank you to all the other owners who contributed with their experience in the Week 1 comments, and I'm glad I'm handling this as safely as I can 🙏 🚨 Week 1 ➡️ https://youtu.be/oELSwKJa4hQ Week 2 is always a bit of a reinforcement week, paired with healthy doses of safe socilasation & desensitisation, which all kicks into real action in Week 3 and 4 when our puppy vaccines are fully "installed", taking over from the parental immunity delivered from the mums milk. Mum's milk is powerful stuff though, lasting 2-4 months to protect from nasties in the environment, which is pretty cool to be honest, considering that dose of antibodies is delivered in the first 24 hours of life! We're entering the most critical weeks to expose Ren to as many things as possible (safely) to prepare her for everything she may experience in the future. Today we're doing some dog photography in the forest with Bryt the spaniel to demonstrate why foot placement (or angle of shot), can elevate an image instantly. Why? Because it looks so much more intentional. Intentional elements include composition, posing, location choice, settings, light, focal length, settings, expression, colour harmony AND whether we can see the feet or not on our four-legged subjects. By just making sure that we can see those toes, we can elevate our shots immediately. The rule is: If we could see the feet, we should see the feet. ✅ Solid surfaces = should see feet ❌ Soft or dense surfaces = no need to see feet Hopefully, my portfolio examples help to illustrate the concept further! Split toning is an easy way to create a more eye-catching photograph, drawing attention immediately to your subject and calming down the background and environment elsewhere in the frame. It's essential for outdoor dog photography where the light can be as flat as a pancake! Using Adobe Lightroom Classic (LRC) and Adobe Photoshop, we'll touch on a few different methods to quickly split tone your editing before adding your finishing touches. I'd recommend a dodge & burn (contouring!) to polish the photo before exporting, but if this is all you do, then you'll be miles ahead of where you were at the start.
