To meet that demand, then Chief of Staff of the Army, Gen. John A. Wickham, ordered the activation of a 3rd Ranger battalion and a Ranger Regimental Headquarters. Forty years ago, the 75th Ranger Regiment was born, and it has led the way for our Army and nation ever since.
