But the crying was a deep crying that represented so much more than a surf contest. It represented all the trying and the things that didn’t go well in life. It represented pain that I face along side of all of the good and the beautiful blessings in my life. While this event didn’t go how I envisioned it and there was some incredible waves to be had. It was monumental for female surfing! The ladies absolutely rocked it!!! I’m proud of myself and all of the amazing women who tried and didn’t let their fears hold them back. I can imagine my life to be a life of simplicity if I let my fears lead me. But I choose to try. I choose to face my fears. I trust that Gods plan is better than mine. Today I’m a mother of 4 and those fears continually try to rob me of my boldest best version of me. But I continue to keep trying and showing up. How was I able to surf with one arm + compete and do crazy awesome things in surfing?! I have shared with you all before just how much an epic mindset changes everything. 🤗 Choosing to be thankful, and realizing that so much more is possible than we may think! Often our mindsets are limiting, but we don’t have to stay in those limiting mindsets! 👉🏼 Now being a mom and doing daily activities with my four children, this same sentiment is true. I have spent 20 years now living life with one arm. It is normal for me now to do daily things with my arm. There are days where I see the ease of having both arms for others, but that does not need to hold me back, because I can adapt! I have adapted and changed in so many ways for the better because of my accident years ago. You can adapt too! 🤙🏼 What has pushed me to be resilient is no doubt my willingness to try. But even more so my faith and life foundation being in God. I hope you can overcome the hard times in your life and find hope when all else fails.
