The surah goes on to give an account of Prophet Musa’ (as) story and how the arrogance and pride of the Firawn (Pharaoh) sealed his fate. </video> <video> SURAH AL INSAN | 76 | MISHARY BIN RASHID AL-AFASY Description: Surah Al-Insan (Arabic text: الإنسان) is the 76th chapter of the Qur’an. The surah titled in English means “The Man” and it consists of 31 verses. Inspirational Quote: “Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.” Surah Al-Insan Ayat 3 About this Surah: The background of this Surah discusses matters about physical and spiritual growth a person can attain. It outlines the benefits and rewards of those with good character and traits will be rewarded in paradise. According to some traditions it is believed that verses 5-22 revelation discuss “the righteous” which is actually a story about the family of the Prophet (ﷺ). Specifically of Ali Ibn Abi Talib, and the Prophet’s daughter Fatimah and their two kids Hasan and Hussein. Ali’s two sons had fallen ill and the Prophet (ﷺ) and a group come to visit them. They advised Ali and Fatimah to make a vow to Allah (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ) to fast three days and so they did while supplicating daily asking for their children’s recovery. During each day of their fast, they were met by a stranger who came to their door asking for food. The first day was a poor person, the second day an orphan, and the third day a captive. Even though, they themselves were short on the food they gave generously and were left with breaking their fast with only water. On the fourth day, they themselves were in a dire need of food, the Prophet (ﷺ) had seen their famished condition. They were said to be trembling of hunger, and their faces were sunken in. It is here Jibril descended and mentioned that Allah (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ) has congrulated the Prophet (ﷺ) for having such a family, it is here Jibril revealed this Surah. </video> <video> SURAH AL MURSALAT | 77 | MISHARY BIN RASHID AL-AFASY Description: Surah Al-Mursalat (Arabic text: المرسلات) is the 77th chapter of the Qur’an. The surah titled in English means “The Emissaries” and it consists of 50 verses. Inspirational Quote: “Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs And fruits from whatever they desire, [Being told], ‘Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do.’ Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.” Surah Mursalat Ayat 41-44 About this Surah: This Surah affirms the believers of the day of Resurrection and the promised afterlife and it warns people to be conscious of their actions. We are given free will and with that comes choices to do either right or wrong, we can either accept or deny the truths presented in the Qur’an. The reward will go to the doers of good (v. 44). The surah concludes by addressing the disbelievers who fail to pray and to believe despite being told to (v 46-50). </video> <video> SURAH 'ABASA Description: Surah Abasa (Arabic text: عبس‎) is the 80th chapter of the Qur’an. The surah titled in English means “He Frowned” and it consists of 42 verses. Inspirational Quote: For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright – Laughing, rejoicing at good news. And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. About this Surah: The Surah tells how the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) at one time was preaching Islam to some big chiefs of Mecca. It was an important meeting for Him, but at that moment a blind man named Abd-Allah ibn Umm-Maktum came and interrupted his presentation. Prophet Muhammad disliked this interruption and ignored him. About this Surah: The main theme or subject of Surah Naba is about the day of “great tidings” referring to the day of Resurrection. This Surah can be divided into three main sections. Verses 1-5: Which mentions how before that day there will be a group who disbelieve that deny that the day of reckoning does not exist. Verses 6-16: Here the Qur’an presents all the miracles and wonders of this world and appeals to reason. Allah (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ) is the only one capable of creating such complex systems like the clouds that pour water onto the vegetation stimulating growth. He created the night and sleep so that we may rest, the mountains as stakes, and the day for livelihood. How can we accept all this but not the day of resurrection?
