While the glitzy malls nearby may draw the crowds, I’d take this humble backstreet eatery over a flashy restaurant any day of the week. The shop is a slice of history, set in a converted old house covered with family photos and even pictures of the Thai royal family. Run by a lovely auntie and uncle duo, their warmth and hospitality make the experience even more special. And the noodles? UNREAL! We started just around the corner from Sam Yot MRT station at a back alley pork leg restaurant called Pork leg with mushrooms, Wat Suthat ข้าวขาหมูเห็ดหอมน้ำใสไร้ไขมัน วัดสุทัศน์. They serve their khao kha moo here with shitake mushrooms and it's fantastic.
