But there are a few people who in spite of this, quite literally, get away with murder. This channel is about such people. Many of these cases are well known - have become part of the canon of classic true crime literature - and others less so but are nevertheless intriguing unsolved murders that have baffled Scotland Yard. The opinions expressed in these essays are mine alone - the result of careful research using many sources including original police papers, transcripts of court proceedings, Inquests etc; also contemporary press reports and personal contact with descendants of those who were witness to the events. The evidence was so compelling, he could hardly get away with it - could he? </video> <video> An Outrage in Arundel: The Murder of Joan Woodhouse, 1948 Description: Joan Woodhouse, a 27 year old librarian, left the place where she lived in London on 31st July 1948 for a visit to her home in Barnsley, Yorkshire - or so she told her room mates. But for some reason she instead caught a train to Worthing on the south coast of England, and from here travelled to the town of Arundel. Ten days later her body was found in a secluded part of Arundel park. The police, the authorities, and the family were quite certain who the killer was - and Joan's family instituted private proceedings against the man. This was only the second time in British legal history such a thing had been done... </video>
