Most troubling to Jung are the ever-increasing proclivity to mass-mindedness, and the eradication of the individual by the "State". Written decades ago, this brilliant work has more impact than ever in today's world, where many of Jung's concerns have come to fruition. The informed listener will, no doubt, find Jung's predictions, and assessment of human nature, spookily accurate. Note: this is my second narration of this essay. Also, Jung believes numbers to be of archetypal nature and dealt with in the unconscious mind as such. Description: Chapter 1 of Carl Jung's essay, "Synchronicity: An Acausal Connecting Principle", titled "Exposition". As the title of his essay suggests, Jung believed the explanation for synchronicity lay outside the bounds of causality in space and time--or at least as we understand it. I'm excited to share this work of Jung's, as it not only explains synchronicity as Jung had come to understand it, but also provides a (somewhat) comprehensive glimpse into Jung's world. Synchronicity, and its underlying principles, weren't just ideas or theories to Carl Jung--they were realities, and integral components in his understanding of psychology and metaphysics. This is a great read/listen for anyone, but those with knowledge of Jung's theories regarding archetypes and the unconscious will especially appreciate the way he ties synchronicity, the unconscious and archetypes together. This is the only chapter I'll be reading from this essay, because I think it's the only one that can be understood well via listening only, and I believe it provides enough information to suit most listeners. The entire essay can be purchased for $5 or less, and contains charts, diagrams, etc. detailing the data Jung references, if you really want to get deep into the nuts and bolts of synchronicity. Gnostic text audio book. Description: The "Secret Book of John" (aka "The Apocryphon of John") is generally regarded as the most "heretical" of Gnostic texts, establishing the tenets of the Gnostic tradition. Within are ideas including salvation through Gnosis, reincarnation, the "immovable race", and Archons (the equivalent of demons in the Christian tradition). The famous Swiss psychologist Carl Jung considered himself Gnostic, and regarded the early Christian Gnostics as being very advanced in their understanding of human psychology. The Matrix Trilogy is considered to be representative of many Gnostic concepts, along with other movies like "Ink", and "The Nines". Hopefully that explains why I've decided to include it on this channel. Most of all I see it as being particularly useful in the area of human psychology. On a side note I'm hoping to get back to this channel and begin providing it with the TLC it's been so desperately lacking.
