Description: </video> <video> Using TouchOSC with Pro Tools & a New Mackie HUI Template (Ultimate Guide to TouchOSC) Description: Let's take a look at using #touchosc with Pro Tools! Hexler's TouchOSC MkII has a lot of incredible scripting abilities that make some impressive templates possible. We're going to look at how you can crack the code to use TouchOSC to control MIDI CC, third party plugins, and even a template to have full transport control over Avid's Pro Tools. This was a hell of a project to put together that took a ton of time, but I'm glad I (with the help of Ken Mitchell) finally put this together. I asked Ken for some help and he developed an incredibly impressive template to use as a Mackie HUI Control Surface. *I forgot to mention in the video that you need to go to Setup then Peripherals in Pro Tools to enable your tablet device that is using the template with HUI.* After you enable the HUI protocol, the template should work. DropSpin is an incredible web-based metronome (also an app) that can load a MusicXML file and create a customized metronome for practice and rehearsal. We're going to take a look at this extremely powerful tool and the import process as well as the export process from Dorico and Finale. This also includes some information on working in Dorico where I show fixing a file imported from Finale and composing a brand new drumline cadence in Dorico. For 6 years I was the Drumline Instructor at Loyola University Chicago where I composed a lot of different music for drumline. Metronome practice is a key part of the rehearsal process with a drumline and a tool like DropSpin is perfect in its integration into the process.
