On this day in 1987, progressive rock legends Rush released "Time Stand Still" as the lead single from their twelfth studio album Hold Your Fire. It was the first song from the album written by Neil Peart, Rush's drummer and lyricist. When Peart tragically lost his battle with brain cancer in January of 2020, members of The U.S. Army Band came together to record this evocative tribute, arranged by Sergeant First Class Tim Whalen.
