We used our canoe to set up the only decoys we have, a mallard hen and drake, and attempted to call some in to them. Although we are both inexperienced at duck hunting and have limited gear to do so, we had some luck in shooting some mallard, wigeon, and teal ducks, and I tried my best to capture it on camera. I used a large tarp and built a stake-less tarp shelter in a nice open area, cooked some bison stroganoff with a cooking tripod, practiced some fire-crafting and other saw and hatchet work, and more all while enjoying the last few days of color on the trees until next Spring.
