In the third part of my Norway series, I ventured far into the interior of Jotunheimen National Park. After a night in the wonderful Leirvassbu hut with little sleep and lots of intensive map study, I decided to take the "Nordrygg" Route up the mountain Visbretinden. Across a wonderful plain along several lakes, the path then leads along this wonderfully exposed mountain flank to the summit. I knew that it is a weakly frequented summit, however, I did not expect not to meet a single person that day. It took me a long time to compose the appropriate music for this video. Wildstrubel is known as one of the easier 3000-ers in Switzerland, requiring no glacier crossings or climbing skills—perfect for hikers seeking high-altitude beauty without technical challenges. Starting in Lenk, the trail led me through a lush forest, along the Simme River to its source at the "sibe Brünne," and then up to the picturesque Flueseeli. From here, I found a perfect campsite at 'bi de rote Steine' (2,500m). The next day, the well-marked trail took me to the south peak of Wildstrubel and onward to the isolated Mittelgipfel, where I enjoyed true alpine solitude. In winter, this mountain is popular with ski tourers who descend its slopes with ease. But for me, the summer hike revealed a stunning side of Wildstrubel—a place of lush valleys, serene alpine lakes, and breathtaking zen moments. After 6 days of hiking all over Norway, I decided to finish my trip with the famous Trolltunga hike. I arrived in Tyssedal late at night, after driving all the way down from Besseggen. To beat the crowds of tourists flocking to the Trolltunga, I got up at 4am and made my way to the Skjeggedal parking lot. I started my hike around the lake around 5am, taking the route that would lead me to the start of the via ferrata. Normally, you do this by bike. Since I was early, I didn't meet anyone until I finished the via ferrata around 7am and made my way to Trolltunga, arriving at 8am. Enough time to take pictures, film, and let the incredible scenery take its toll on me. I then continued on to Preikestolen (not the one in Songesand), which I found completely empty despite its proximity to Trolltunga. From there I hiked to Nibbenuten, Langavassbui, climbed Einseten (1'446m), hiked past Mosdalsvatnet and reached the parking lot again around 5pm. All in all, it was a very long and exhausting hike, but also one of my most beautiful experiences so far. The combination of via ferrata, the thrill of standing on the troll tongue, and finally the beauty of the untouched wilderness on the way around Ringedalsvatnet was really something special. Part of what makes this hike special is its proximity to the Vadret Glacier and the View of Piz Palü in the Background. When I did the Climb in October 2023, the weather was not exactly perfect, but the fog and changing cloud covers created a very special atmosphere. I try to capture this mood in the video as best as I can. Considering doing this Via Ferrata, here is the official descrpition: "Piz Trovat 2 is a via ferrata for experts: it is located on very difficult (K5) to extremely difficult (K6) terrain and therefore requires strong upper arms, nerves of steel and excellent physical fitness. This route branches off after the Cambrena section, shortly before the rope bridge. The descent on the stone slabs is the easiest part: after that, the difficultly level increases steadily. One of the highlights of the route is the 35-metre-long Tyrolean traverse. Afterwards, there is a long transverse section that reveals a fabulous panoramic view of the Bernina range. The final challenge is tackling the crux section with its longer overhanging sections (up to 30 metres!) at the biceps wall, which will test your mountaineering skills to the limit." I discovered this hidden cliffside church by chance while researching new projects. The pictures looked so spectacular, and I instantly knew I had to see this for myself. The nearby mountain range made for the perfect hiking challenge to complement the visit. I began my journey in Ferrara di Monte Baldo, starting the long ascent to the mountain ridge. Once at the top, I headed north to the summit of "Cima Valdritta" (2,218m), where I set up camp for the night. The next day, I continued south along the ridge, passing "Punta Pettorina," "Cima Telegrafo," "Vetta delle Buse," and finally "Rifugio G. Chierego," where I had my breakfast. From there, I descended into the valley, all the way to "Spiazzi," where the breathtaking Church is nestled. I stayed a couple of days in Spiazzi to absorb the atmosphere and visit the sanctuary multiple times. Today I had planned to climb the Eiger-Rotstock via ferrata. After seeing that everything there is in the shade, I spontaneously decided on this hut tour. I caught a beautiful day, with lots of sun and good conditions for filming. The approach is very comfortable, it is a relatively short climb to the hut (700 meters in altitude) and well served by public transport. The view is absolutely fantastic and I can say that it was a real pleasure to be out there today.
